WildQuest Summer Camp June 24 - August 23, 2019

Monday - Friday 9 am - 4 pm*

Give your children an unforgettable summer camp experience discovering the natural world around them! Our camp program

includes nature activities, animals and plant identification, arts & crafts, Quests, games and hands-on learning. Most of the day is

spent outdoors and each week will feature an all-camp hands-on project related to the theme of the week.

For campers aged 4-14, including half-day programs for our youngest campers, and a Leadership in Training (LIT) Program for

campers age 13-14 during selected weeks.

Saturday, September 7; 1-2 pm $12 (FREE for members) Prescott Farm is home and steward of the largest recorded Paper Birch in the county! See this and other huge, old trees along our trails including another champion Big Tree. Just imagine what they have “seen” over the course of their lives! Along with information about trees, you learn fascinating fun facts about ecology, history, and how the land has changed over the years.

NEW! Beginner Bushcraft Overnight Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 21 - 22; 1pm - 10 am $150 (Members pay $50 materials fee) Love watching Survivorman, Alone and Man vs. Wild? Challenge yourself to learn valuable skills that could help you in a survival situation. Under the experienced guidance of our camp director, you’ll construct a shelter, build a fire and cook over it, tie knots, gather water and other useful skills!

Forage for Fall Flair! Saturday, September 28; 1-3 pm $8 (FREE for Members) Min. 1 adult per party (adult must accompany child) Let the colors of fall inspire your family to create nature-based decorations for your home. We will go for a walk around Prescott Farm to search for materials. Follow designs from our educator to then craft your discoveries into seasonal ornaments.

Herbal First Aid Kits Saturday, July 13; 10-12 pm $40 (Members pay $24 guest instructor fee)

Scrapes and Bites and Stings...Oh My! Using plants around you and food items from your kitchen you can create a multipurpose well rounded first aid kit to heal yourself and prevent suffering, too.

Natural Baskets Saturday, August 10; 10-12:30 pm $40 (Members pay $24 guest instructor fee)

Turn your prunings and cutbacks and bark it into a natural basket. It’s a wonderful way to stimulate your creative juices whilst making a "place for your stuff" or a one of a kind gift for someone. You don't need special skills or materials, just an imagination and sense of fun to begin!

Herbal Preparations for Health & Well Being Saturday, Sept. 28; 10-12:30 pm $45 (Members pay $27 guest instructor fee)

Melissa will teach you the fine technical art of making herb preparations like oils, salves, extracts, and more. Each student will go home with samples, recipes & inspiration to continue their healing journey in the herbal world.

Did you know that we offer a SUMMER Polliwogs session? Polliwogs is a fun group for the littlest explorers amongst us. Bring along your favorite grown-up and join us to explore the forests, fields and gardens around Prescott Farm in all their summer glory! Every program includes a walk, story, craft and time in our Natural Playscape. Great for grandparents and grandchildren to do together! See each week’s full description on our website. The Turtle Team! Saturday, September 7; 1-3 pm Come meet Bucky, our locally-famous resident box turtle! We'll learn all about NH turtles, as well as how to take good care of Bucky. Then you'll be certified to be one of our important volunteers that regularly cares for her.

Keeping Chickens Saturday, September 28; 10-12 pm Using our small flock as a model, we’ll learn about housing, food, and water requirements, egg collection and more. Then you’ll be ready to start your own flock as well as become an important volunteer to help take care of ours.

Trail Maintenance—”Wood Walkers” Saturday, July 13; 9-10 am Wednesday, September 18; 6-7 pm Our trails are an inviting place for visitors and wildlife. Members of this team walk our trails to monitor and maintain any trail maintenance needs. During this training, participants will share their knowledge and gain skills in areas such as plant trimming, invasive species removal, and basic naturalist skills.

FOODS Wild Foods of the Season Guest instructor: Melissa Morrison, Master Herbalist Summer - Saturday, July 20; 1-3 pm Fall - Saturday, Sept. 28; 1-3 pm $40 (Members pay $24 guest instructor fee) “What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered!” –Emerson. Join us to explore the pond, woods, and fields of Prescott Farm and meet some wild “weeds,” which are also extremely nutritious and delicious foods. Basic plant identification, ethical harvesting and safety will also be addressed.

Farmhouse Kitchen Series $24 (Members pay $10 materials fee) Jams & Jellies - Saturday, August 17; 1-3 pm Fruit is plentiful in NH this time of year! Join us to learn how to preserve your own jams & jellies to enjoy throughout the winter.

Fermented Foods for Better Health - Saturday, Sept.7; 1-3 pm Join us to learn how fermented foods can have a dramatic effect on your gut and overall health. We’ll use vegetables from our own garden and make several different concoctions!
