• AOC commissioned RCU to produce an analysis of learners on Sustainability / Renewable Energy courses;

• The project was to quantify the volume and proportion of learners on these courses;

• The analysis was split by:• Funding Model• Region• LEP• Level• Course Type.

Project Outline

Page 3: Workshop 3: Workforce skills for sustainable development - Mapping Demand and Supply using College data Graham Whalley RCU Limited

• The analysis is based on the College Learner Records which were supplied for the MiDES Service;

• The MiDES Service supplies AoC member colleges with in-year benchmarking reports;

• The Service is voluntary with 281 Colleges supplying data for 2013/14;

• The project aggregates learners from the 281 colleges by Provider Region and the Learner Home LEP Area.

Data Sources

Page 4: Workshop 3: Workforce skills for sustainable development - Mapping Demand and Supply using College data Graham Whalley RCU Limited

• No official definition of “Sustainability / Renewable Energy” on the Learner Record;

• Courses / Frameworks which have been included in the analysis have been filtered on the title for key words including:

‘Sustainable’, ‘Environmental’, ‘Energy’, ‘Renewable’

Data Sources
