Creating PowerApps
The development platform has 3 major components:
1. Canvas apps – provides flexibility on the UI
• Used for web, mobile, and tablet applications
• Build your app from Microsoft tools where your data lives (SharePoint List,
Power BI Dashboard)
• Uses the PowerApps Studio
• User friendly
2. Model-driven apps -
• Uses the App designer
• Great for creating data source from scratch
• Great for business process flows
3. Common Data Service – allows you to securely store and manage data within a
set of standard and custom entities
Creating PowerApps
PowerApps requires permission to access other apps to connect to data
Creating PowerApps
Once you create the new PowerApps you are brought to PowerApps studio.

PowerApps Guided Learning
Data is at the core of most apps, including those you build in PowerApps. Data is stored in a data
source, and you bring that data into your app by creating a connection. The connection uses a
specific connector to talk to the data source. PowerApps has connectors for many popular services
and on-premises data sources, including SharePoint, SQL Server, Office 365, Salesforce, and
Twitter.
