IN YOUR WORKPLACE?

wHAT is workplAce Bullying?Workplace bullying is repeated, unreasonable behaviour directed toward an employee, or group of employees, that creates a risk to health and safety. Examples of bullying behaviour may include –• Verbal abuse and/or cyber abuse;• Intimidation;• Constant humiliation;• Psychological harassment;• Withholding work or alteration of workload; and/or• Exclusion - (including social and team activities).

How cAn our union Help you?

Gather evidence and check your workplace policy. Prior to making a bullying complaint it is important that you have evidence to support your complaint and that you have checked what internal process you need to follow. Our Union may assist you to identify appropriate evidence and

ensure you have met any policy requirements that may apply.

WORKPLACE BULLYING IS ON THE RISE WITH MORE AND MORE INDIVIDUALS FEELING VULNERABLE IN THEIR PLACE OF WORK. AS A MEMBER OF

THE AUSTRALAIN SERVICES UNION, WE CAN SUPPORT YOU TO PUT AN END TO WORKPLACE BULLYING.

Once your complaint is submitted, your employer is obligated to investigate the complaint. As part of this process you may be required to meet with

your employer and provide additional information. Our Union may represent you during this process and participate in any meeting/s that you

may need to attend.

Failing a resolution at the workplace level, our Union may assist you in making an application for an order to Stop Bullying in the Fair Work

Commission or another body.
