• 5-7s: 2% have a smart phone (Ofcom). 67% use net at home. 5.2 hours internet user per week.
• 61% of 5-10s have own games console. (Childwise 2011). 80% of 5-7s use games consoles.
• TV most popular. For 5-7s gaming is second most used medium. (Ofcom 2011)
• SNS activity – 23% of 5-7s (Ofcom 2010/11).
• Parents of 5-7s most likely (80%) to have rules/actively supervise.
Simple message
• The safety message is simple… TELL
when something happens that makes you
feel worried, uncomfortable or confused,
you should tell/ask an adult for help.
