WORKING TITLE What will the magazine be called?

OVERLOAD‘Overload’ is a working title at the moment meaning that it is just a temporary title during the magazines production and development. This masthead will be one of the first features that my audience will see when viewing the magazine, in a way the masthead is the first impression your reader gets of your magazine. In my opinion ‘overload’ stands out and can relate well to the content of my magazine. The word ‘overload’ suggests that the magazine is packed full of gossip, images and information. This straight away will draw people into purchasing or becoming interested in the magazine. However this title does not give the audience a clear indication of what genre/ genre’s of music the magazine will contain this will be made clear on other features of the front cover. When working on this title I will take into consideration that having a masthead which relates to the genre/genre’s of music which will be featured in my magazine will help reinforce who the audience of the magazine is. I have decided that for my masthead I will use one singular word as it is uncomplicated and will be easier to remember than two or more words, people remembering and recognising the brand name easily will then help towards the magazines brand image. I found that from my research using a one worded masthead was the most popular in the music magazine production so I have chosen to continue with this tradition. Using two words perhaps would make my magazine stand out and be recognised due to it being different and original however using one word is simple and clear. Further more I am planning on developing this title throughout the development of my magazine.
