Working for TTC

*Public Relations

* I’ve been PR Director here for four years, Liz McNulty is our PR Manager and has also been here four years. PR Executive Hannah Llewellyn-Jones has been with us a little over a year.

* Put simply, our mission is to secure as much positive, quality press coverage for our brands as we can, in target publications that make a difference to our business. We work with journalists and influencers to tell the story about the amazing travel experiences TTC's family of brands offer, from our luxury hotels with impeccable service to the eye-opening encounters with local families and experts on our worldwide guided holidays. With our mix of brands, you can imagine that every day is different. One minute we’ll be pitching to the travel editor of glossy magazine Tatler about the glorious restoration and enhancement that is nearly complete at Ashford Castle, the latest jewel in the Red Carnation collection. The next minute, we’ll be working with an important Youtuber to secure coverage for Contiki.

*Working in PR* The PR team in London!

* At just three people, we’re the smallest team in London but have the important role of securing UK editorial coverage on five key brands – Red Carnation Hotels, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection, Trafalgar, Contiki and Insight Vacations.

* For example, Liz and I have just come back from Amsterdam for the launch of the Super Ship Maria Theresa, the newest masterpiece in Uniworld’s portfolio of boutique ships, with the Tollman family and the Uniworld team including Brett Tollman, Guy Young and Kathryn Beadle. We had a mix of media present from key travel trade and cruise experts to national newspapers and magazines (more on this later, including some pictures of the stunning ship). Meanwhile Hannah was at Traverse, an event for emerging travel bloggers, where she was encouraging the attendees to engage with Contiki.

* Over the next two weeks, we’ll be posting more about our activities so you get an insight in to what we do.

* We’re based on the ground floor of number 14 Grosvenor Place with the lovely Red Carnation marketing team, so please come and say hi here, or when you spot us making a cuppa in the kitchen!

*Working in PR* The PR team acts as a central communications hub for all TTC brands, developing and driving PR

strategies specifically tailored towards each. Our remit covers brand and corporate comms, crisis and CSR.

Whenever you read about or see one of our brands featured in a newspaper, magazine or online article, chances are it is the result of the PR team's efforts. One way we generate editorial opportunities is by leveraging topical news and aligning to the great travel experiences our brands deliver.

* Here is a recent example, featuring all brands, that we generated ahead of Valentine's Day. http://www.973fm.com.au/lifestyle/travel/quirky-valentine-s-day-traditions-from-around-the-world/

For more media coverage generated by PR, check out the coverage board on Level 4 (Sydney) where we pin up our best results each month, or look out for our updates in brand Yammer groups.

*Working in PR* I thought it would be nice to share some great coverage (the fruits of our labour so to speak!) that the PR team achieved over the

Easter weekend for some of our Red Carnation Hotels. * We had some lovely coverage appear in the Irish Independent for The Rubens at the Palace and The Chesterfield Mayfair. The travel

editor and his family stayed at the Rubens Hotel for a London family feature as seen through children’s favourite books and films. While he was there we took the opportunity to have him sample The Chesterfield’s ever popular Charlie and the Chesterfield Afternoon tea, based on the Roald Dahl classic.

Hotels”. The Independent and i newspapers included The Old Government House and The Duke of Richmond in their Guernsey feature and Ashford Castle was included in a round-up of places to propose on the website of the French daily newspaper, Le Figaro.

Some of the amazing inclusions in the package include the services of a Designated Fairy Godmother to assist in planning your visit and a Butler to take care of your every need during your stay, A horse drawn Cinderella carriage to take you to the Cinderella Ballet at the London Coliseum, Private Helicopter flight over London for two from The London Heliport Battersea, Personal shopping experience for each at Harrods to the value total of £8,000, A pair of Jimmy Choo Crystal Covered Pointy Toe Pump 'Cinderella Slipper', made to order and more! The Sun covered our Cinderella this Easter weekend to tie in with the release of the movie.
