PURPOSE OF ORIENTATIONYou were invited to attend this orientation as a result of the Middle ClassTax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012. This act requires states toprovide additional services to assist unemployed workers, including thelong‐term unemployed, in obtaining employment.

This orientation will assist you in returning to work by showing you manyresources available to help you job search effectively. It is important tobegin your job search as quickly as possible. As can be seen by the chartbelow, Nationally there are more unemployed individuals than everbefore.

Fidelity BondingWhat is Fidelity Bonding?

Insurance to protect against employee dishonesty, such as larceny, embezzlement, forgery and theft.No bond approval processing ‐ Bond is instantly issued to employer upon hiring qualified individuals.Courtesy bonds are issued at the $5000 level, but available at higher levels if appropriate.When purchased for eligible job seekers through the workforce center, this incentive program costs employer/employees $0.

Workforce Solutions Texoma is proud of ourVeterans who have sacrificed so much for ourcountry. Our staff are trained to help veteransachieve their employment and training goals.

In partnership with the Texas Veterans Commission, Veterans EmploymentRepresentatives (VERs), are housed in the Grayson County WorkforceCenter. VER’s provide a full range of employment services to veterans.

Workforce Solutions provides resources to support individualswith disabilities in finding and retaining employment. All ofour Workforce Centers are accessible.All centers have the following accessibility aids:

Accessible Computer WorkstationsAladdin Jeanie Pro Magnifiers, to help individuals with low vision completeapplications, see newspaper ads, or read other small‐print materials.Tape recorders can be checked out at the front desk for use in grouporientationsPocket Talkers (voice amplification) can also be requested for use by ourcustomers to assist in ease of hearing during group or individual sessions.TTY telephones are available to assist job seekers who are deaf or havehearing impairments to communicate for job search purposes.Icons are on all of the computers in our Resource Rooms to access computerresources for people with disabilities. These icons will access the MicrosoftEase of Access Center which includes Magnifier, Narrator, On‐ScreenKeyboard and High Contrast options.

Workforce Solutions Texoma offers child care assistance to help lowincome families pay for child care so they can go to work or attend aneducational program or a vocational training program.

Customers receiving child care assistance must meet federal, state andlocal guidelines in order to qualify for child care assistance. Informationcontained on our website is available to help individuals needing childcare assistance.

Workforce Investment Act (WIA)Funding may be available through the Workforce InvestmentAct to those interested in attending school to obtaineducational or vocational training.

Qualified individuals are those who are dislocated fromemployment through no fault of their own or adults andyouth who meet low income guidelines.

Attend our WIA Orientation for additional details includinginformation on selecting your training program as WIA fundswill only pay for training that will give you the best possiblechance of locating employment when you complete training. 18
