WORKDAY @ SNHU

What’s next in 2015?

The release of Mobile Access to Workday. Our Workday

project team is working diligently to bring Workday access to

the palm of your hand. This system enhancement will allow

users to view their information anytime, anywhere on a mobile

device.

I encourage you to continue to visit the Workday Support page found on the mySNHU Portal for Job Aids and User Assistance. We can be reached at [email protected] and we welcome your feedback and suggestions!

Thank you,

Danielle Stanton

Sr. Vice President, CHRO

Human Resources

Welcome to the first edition of Connections!

This newsletter will connect you to Workday news, updates,

training and resources.

Since going live last Fall, Workday has changed our human capital

management processes by automating, streamlining, and

standardizing business processes in human resources, payroll,

and benefits. This integrated solution has successfully addressed,

and will continue to address, our constantly changing employee,

management and compliance needs.

Since our launch, Workday maintains 7,245 active employee

records! On a daily basis, hundreds of employees access their

personal and employee information which is available 24/7. Self-

service has afforded the opportunity for employees to

electronically make changes to all of their personal, payroll and

benefits data.

Your Inbox in Workday includes tasks awaiting your action and can be viewed in an expanded manner to include an archive of

read notifications and completed actions. The number of actions awaiting your attention within your inbox will be displayed in a

orange circle on your profile icon.

Actions: Items to be completed Archive: Process status and historical actions

When you select an Action or Archive item from your

Inbox, it displays in a viewing pane to the right where

you can make edits.

To access your Inbox, click your profile icon, then select Inbox. This brings you to a full screen view

of your inbox. On the top left, you will find two tabs, Actions and Archive (see below):

To view your business process tasks, approvals, and to dos, click the Actions tab. Items will remain in

the Actions tab until they are completed.

Once completed, the item will move to the Archive tab. The Archive tab includes completed actions,

business process events you initiated, and business processes that you monitor (but did not initiate).

To run this report, simply select the organizations available to you under the

heading “my organizations”. Then click OK at the bottom to access all information

available to you. Additionally, you can enter a start and end date to narrow the

selected records. The displayed report provides you with all time that has been

approved or denied. You may also export the data to excel to sort or manipulate

the data as needed. If you wish to see details of time entries for non-exempt

employees, simply search type My Team’s Time in the search bar, select the date

range, then click OK. You may click the print button to download the results.

All Employee Time-Off Report

Direct Reports Compensation Summary Report

To run the Direct Reports Compensation Summary report, simply type “Direct

Reports Compensation” in the search bar. This report affords the manager the

opportunity to view, sort and export Salary and Hourly information for their direct

reports.

Visit the Workday Support page to find job aids, training videos and as well as access

to submit a Workday Support ticket.

Manager Self Service tasks are accessible through Workday’s “My Team” landing page. Additionally, a

variety of reports are available by using the search bar of the Workday home page. Below we

have highlighted two reports available. Additionally, if you manage non-exempt hourly employees, four

reports are available to you by entering “SNHU” in the search bar.

Workday’s Employee Self Service functionality allows SNHU staff and faculty to view and manage

information related to their individual human resources, benefits and payroll elections. Employees are able

to initiate and view actions completed. For example, to view time off requests, click on your name at the

top of the Workday Home Page, go to your Inbox and click ‘Archive’. You can also view actions that have

been approved in the Notifications section of your Workday Inbox.

We recently sat down with Cheryl, State Authorization Specialist, to hear what she had to say about Workday.

“Since I began working at SNHU I wondered why we didn’t have more access to our payroll, benefits and paid time off.

I believe Workday has filled a valuable need at our University. I love having access to my payroll data with the ability to see all the detail within.

If I need to make a change to my benefits determinations I can do that online, at my convenience.

In terms of requesting time off, it couldn’t be any easier in Workday.

I am very happy with the product and I’m looking forward to some of the other features that may be rolled out in the future.

Thanks HR4U for bringing Workday to SNHU!”
