• The first copy out time (FCOT) is measured from when the Start button is pressed to when the trail edge of the first copy is output to the specified destination.

• The first print out time (FPOT) is the duration from the Print Job request to the delivery into the output tray.

• Overall system print performance (‘Click to Clunk’ time) is primarily dependent upon the software applications and network environment being used. Rasterizing (RIP-ing) is only a small fraction of Click to Clunk time.

Quality, Color Management & Print Resolution • The appearance of the document displayed on the computer monitor

screen may not match the output print due to the following reasons: The range of color that can be produced in print is different than

the range of color that can be displayed on a computer display. Different display technologies have different reproductions of

color Printed colors appear differently under different light sources.

• The customer is responsible for calibrating the WorkCentre® 7120. • When the print drivers "Color" output mode is selected, grayscale

images in MS Office applications will print as composite grays, which contain a visually neutral combination of C, M, Y & K.

• Pages are not guaranteed to print & bill as monochrome unless the "Black & White" output color mode is selected in the print driver.

Image Quality Image quality is subjective, can be impacted by lighting & is strongly influenced by media (consult the Recommended Materials List).

Base Engine / Volume Range / Expectations Base Engine Standard Configuration • Copy, Print, Scan to Email & Scan to Folder (Hard Disk) • 2 x 520 Sheet Trays with Stand Module or 4 x 520 Sheet Trays • 50 Sheet By-Pass Tray • 110 Sheet DADF • Duplex Printing • Paper Input

• 2 x 520 Trays plus Stand or 4 x 520 Trays • 1,090 or 2,130 Input Capacity (7120V_S / 7120V_T)

• 2Gb Memory with 80Gb Hard Disk • USB 2.0 / 100Base-TX / 10Base-T Ethernet connectivity • PCL5 /6, TIFF/JPEG/PDF/XPS printing

Average Monthly Volume • The WorkCentre® 7120 is designed to operate in the range of 4,000

to 8,000 transactions per month. • The number of copies or prints between service calls on a digital

copier / printer is highly dependent on customer expectations of quality and the use of applications & throughput materials.

• At an average usage of 5,500 copies or prints per month, it is expected that service will be required about once every 40 weeks based on UMR. Volumes higher than this could result in more frequent service.

Maximum Duty Cycle • Maximum Duty Cycle: Up to 50,000 transactions per month • Maximum copy/print volume supported under standard vendor

supplied service for any single month. Customers should consider multiple machines if average monthly volume approaches duty cycle on a continual basis

Expected Machine Life • Expected Machine Life : 400,000 prints or 5 years*

*Machine Life expectancy is quoted based on recommended usage over 5 years, although the actual usefulness of the device is expected to be a lot higher if recommended usage and routine maintenance are performed. Xerox will continue to support to device where it is economical to do so regardless of print count.

• Mac OS 10.3 and above • 10.3 – 10.4 (Enhanced PPD) • 10.5 & above (PS Driver Only)

Supported PDL’s • PCL5*

*PCL 5 is supported via direct submission (main frames) or Global Print Driver.

• PCL6 • Adobe PS3 • Full support for the Xerox Global Print Driver & Mobile Express Driver

will be post-product launch (Expected June 2010) • Citrix client printing is supported

Print Around • The Print Around feature holds a job needing additional resources

(such as a different paper size) and prints the next job in queue. This function allows the device to keep working, while making sure jobs are printed correctly.

Standard Scan Capability The WorkCentre 7120 comes with Scan to Email and Scan to Folder as Standard. Standard Scan Formats Supported; • TIFF, M-TIFF, PDF, Secure PDF, XPS, JPG

Device Folder Capability • Up to 200 individual folders can be created • Device folders can be used for Print / Scan or Fax operations • Total Hard Disk space allocated to device folders is 4Gb • Up to 1000 documents can be stored in each folder

• This is restricted to 100 documents per folder if the folder contains scan or print documents

• All of the above is restricted by the 4Gb capacity assigned to the device folder capability

Full Network Scanning (Optional) The Full Network Scan option enables the following over the standard Scan to Email / Scan to Folder; • Network Scan Templates • Searchable PDF / PDF-A / XPS • High Compressed PDF • Thumbnail Preview • SMB / FTP Network Protocols

Scanning Specifications Scanned Image Max Resolution A4 (Letter / 8.5x11 in.) 600 dpi A3 (Tabloid / 11x17 in.) 600 dpi Compressed/OCR PDF 300 dpi Note: Several resolution settings are selectable via User Interface touch panel. Lower resolutions will result in files that are smaller in size thereby reducing network traffic. • Scan-to-email is standard on the WorkCentre® 7120. Network

scanning capability is optional. • When scanning the OCR processing, image compression, file

formatting and file transfer operations all continue after the job has completed scanning by the scanner.

• No more than 10 scan jobs can be concurrently processing. Scanning of additional jobs can resume once less than three scan jobs are in the job queue.

Heavy scan usage will reduce the RIP performance of print jobs.

Job Flow Sheets • Jobs stored in the mailbox via print driver can’t be routed via Job

Flow Sheets. • Job Flow Sheets can be set up at the device, through CWIS or using

the Job Flow Editor. Each destination is set up electronically and there is no paper or paper-ware involved.

• Destinations can include e-mail, FTP, SMB, Fax, Internet fax & or Printer (Destinations are dependent on options added)

• Job Flow Sheets created at the device are limited to 2 SMB, 2 FTP locations, 100 e-mail addresses & 1 printer.

• Job Flow Sheets created in CWIS have a limit of 1 SMB, 1 FTP location, 10 e-mail addresses & 1 printer.

• Job Flow Editor will not be supported in Windows 7 environments until Q4 2010

Job Flow Editor is limited to 30 total destinations per Job Flow Sheet. This can be any mix of 30 e-mail, Fax, Internet Fax, printers, FTP or SMB destinations. USB Enablement Kit – Scan to / Print from USB (Optional) The USB Enablement Kit allows users to Scan directly to a portable USB drive or Print directly from it. It also enables the Thumbnail Preview Option that can be used to view documents contained with the device Folders or when using the optional Media Card Reader. • USB Print enables walk-up users to print Print-Ready files (i.e. PDF

or XPS) directly from a USB Drive. • Files are sent directly from the USB drive to the print controller. • All Scan Formats are supported when scanning directly to the USB

Drive.

Media Card Reader (Optional) • Compact Flash Media Print enables walk up users to print directly

from a Flash Memory Card. Media Print – Photo will print JPEG’s files from an EXIF formatted memory card. Files are sent directly from the Media Card to the print controller.

• The Media Card Reader option requires the USB Enablement Kit • Print from USB Drive and Media Card are mutually exclusive--only

one of these options can be available at a time. The WorkCentre 7120 will use the hardware that is detected first. To switch between these two options, the device must be shut down and restarted.

PSTN Faxing (Optional) • If Fax option is installed, the following telephone line requirements

are applicable: Telephone wall jack should be within 7’ of the Line Jack of the

machine. • Telephone service supported:

Sole use, non-switchboard or PBX. RJ11 - 6 position, 4 pin modular jack. Single analog line. (Voice over IP--VoIP, DSL or other Digital
