WELCOME TO THE UNSTOPPABLE CONFIDENCE MASTER CLASS

Congratulations on your decision to embark on a program, a process that will result in long-term, sustained results and transform your Network Marketing Business so you are bulletproof in the area of Confidence. How many of you feel confident in different areas of your life, but tend to be tentative and uncertain in different areas of your Network Marketing business?

What I discovered during my career in Network Marketing for myself and for the six and seven-figure earners, as well as million dollar earners that I coach, is that what has held them back is their mindset. What do I mean by that? There are various references from what has happened in the past that continue to impact them emotionally even though it is just that, the past. Holding onto this old programming not only is not serving them, it has prevented them in some ways from taking their Network Marketing business to its maximum potential. There are certain emotions that have continued to run their mental programming such as fear and uncertainty. So this had become their mindset, resulting in being in a stuck state and an inability to move forward in their business and their lives.

Once I, and these Network Marketing leaders busted through the limiting beliefs, and chose other, more empowering references, confidence was no longer an issue. And that is my outcome for you… to guide you to a place of Unstoppable Confidence.

Course 1 — road BloCks to unstoppaBle ConfidenCe

When embarking on your Network Marketing career and business, there are Three Pillars of a Network Marketing Professional.

1. Skills

2. Strategy

3. Mindset: A component of Emotional Mastery.

An example of Emotional Mastery is shifting from a corporate background to Network Marketing, which provides a contrast in terms of expressing yourself openly. In corporate, many emotions are suppressed, as you go through meetings, logic, tasks, objectives and other elements of the corporate environment. There’s this thing called Exaggeration Powder where things that bug you a little bit, become magnified. In contrast, in Network Marketing, emotions are exposed in a real, raw way vs. avoidance.

EXERCISE:

A. If you are currently in a corporate environment, what are some areas of operations or your work that you internalize because it is not safe to reveal your real emotions, in fear of retaliation such as being fired or demoted? Write them down now.

B. If most of your time is currently spent in Network Marketing, what are some “old programming” issues that continue to surface that are impacting you by preventing you from moving forward to your maximum success? Write them down now.

The Goal of this program is to take you through a process that’s sustaining and will result in you achieving Unstoppable Confidence. Inside of Network Marketing, I’m bulletproof… in terms of skills, abilities, ability to communicate with you, and in every aspect. My wish is to transfer this unshakable confidence to you.

Some of the confidence challenges faced in Network Marketing include:

• Closing.

• Duplication.

• Follow-up.

• Just picking up the phone.

• Getting the team committed.

• The need for positive feedback.

• Feeling intimidated by Social Media.

• Re-approaching someone after a “no.”

The Physiology of Being ConfidentThere’s little that’s more attractive than a confident person. And it is not about arrogance – you can be confident with humility and elegance in your demeanor. It’s something that causes you to be just okay in the world. It is the highest level of maturity to:

• Learn to be okay in your own skin. • Learn to be okay with your own mind. • Learn to be okay with where you are at the moment. • Learn that you don’t have to be something else, or someone else. • Learning that you don’t need to compare yourself with others.

The Promise of the CourseI’m going to provide you with a road map. How would you like to learn how to take any issue that you struggle with, any challenge that you have, and apply the tools that I will share with you, so that you gain immediate confidence? My goal is, at the end of this course, you’re a little bit more confident because you know where you’re going. This is life work, dealing with and recognizing these repeating patterns in your life, and then finding ways to move past them.

Course 2 — stories: planting seeds of ConfidenCe

In this course, I’d like to share some valuable insight, stories that represent steps in my evolution to Unstoppable Confidence. The first seeds were planted by my parents, who always believed that I was destined to do something important. They would instill this in me, even when I didn’t believe it myself.

EXERCISE:

As you listen and take notes, think about stories in your own personal experience that have had an impact on your business. What can you learn from my stories that will help you in your evolution to Unstoppable Confidence?

STORY #1: A Christmas Carol – Religious Version. Through this process, I got a little swagger because I was part of something and not embarrassed all the time.

STORY #2: Forgetting the Words to a Song in Church. When I forgot the words to a song in church, I turned a failure moment into a “roll with it,” moment. This gave me permission to put myself in uncomfortable spots, knowing I could work my way through it, with authenticity, and a little bit of humor, and just be real with people.

STORY #3: Examples of What Didn’t Build Eric’s Confidence. I realized I was a contributor to why I wasn’t moving forward. I had been rejected after applying for college, dropped out of community college, and had 18 jobs by the time I was 22.

STORY #4: Breakthrough: John Joyce. By persuading my father’s friend to open a tanning salon, which I would manage, it started to give me some feedback. Instead of it being job #19, John Joyce told me he believed I would do a good job. I started to feel like I was doing a little bit better.

STORY #5: The Beginning of Eric’s Network Marketing Career. John Joyce introduced me to Network Marketing along with my father. He gave me that little whisper: “See that kid? I think he’s gonna do better than all of us.” So I went to work. Through this growing experience I learned to just do it, and manage the fallout. Do it big. Talk big. Just get out there, and it’s okay, ‘cause if something bad happens, you can roll with it. I used a blend of authenticity, humor and some self-deprecating. It was the greatest thing that ever happened to me.

STORY #6: Scariest Defining Moment: Call with Wally Hilgenberg. I was working my “Chicken List,” the list of the people who are more successful, powerful, and influential than me/you. Wally Hilgenberg was at the top of my list, so I called and got Wally himself. He told me that he wasn’t interested and nobody in my family would be interested. At first, I wallowed in self-pity, then I got mad and it sparked the drive to prove that he was going to be wrong and I was going to win.

It was a key defining moment in building my confidence because I declared that another person’s opinion is not going to carry any weight.

STORY #7: High School Teacher – Standing up for Beliefs. I learned from Mr. Ericson, one of the most popular teachers in school, that I wouldn’t be silent in the face of injustice or ignorance. This applies to not accepting somebody else’s opinion about what’s wrong with Network Marketing. I was going to stand up for my friends and my beliefs in what I’m doing. This was a defining moment that changed me.

STORY #8: Eric’s Early Days of Network Marketing. In my early days of Network Marketing, taking my parents’ address book to be able to call their friends, I felt I was at the right place at the right time, and was willing to be active, but it felt like a game. I didn’t have much skill, so didn’t have confidence there. But these seeds had already been planted to build my confidence:

• That I’ll be okay if it’s going to be embarrassing. I can roll with that.

• I’m going to take a stand.

• Some people see something in me, even if I don’t see it in myself.

• And I can use my critics as fuel. I can use that experience actually, as fuel.

STORY #9: Eric Producing His First Meeting. When weekly opportunity presenter Michael Nelson decided to build a team outside of Minneapolis for 90 days, the meetings “the committee” held started to fall apart. I decided to do something that scared me, was potentially embarrassing, would prove somebody wrong, and would live up to my mentor, Michael’s expectation. I took what I learned from Michael and produced my first meeting. If Michael hadn’t left, I wouldn’t have faced my fear and taken action. It changed my life and my confidence.

STORY #10: Building Block with David at Eric’s First Convention: I learned a huge lesson from a gentleman named David about the impact of consistently going to events. He shared the correlation between people who come back to events and multiplying their income as a consequence. It boosted my confidence because of the fact that I was still showing up, the fact that I was there, the fact that you could count on me, and the fact that my group was going from event to event.

EXERCISE:

Building Block: Willingness to do Something When Somebody Else Won’t. My willingness to do something when somebody else won’t was a significant building block in building my confidence. Here are some examples of how you can make a difference in your business while building your confidence:

• Your willingness to host a home party when somebody else won’t because of their fear.

• Your willingness to get 100 customers when some people will just get 10.

• Differentiating yourself from the crowd.

1. What are some things you could do when somebody else won’t?

2. How many customers will you commit to that is beyond the average? What will you do to attain your goal?

3. What can you do to differentiate yourself from the crowd?

Building Block: Learning How to be a PresenterA key distinction when learning how to Master Presentations is learning to say the words. The words need to come out of your mouth. At a certain level, you will always lack confidence until you do the following, because you’re outer-dependent:

• You need to be able to tell the company story. • You need to be able to tell the product story. • You need to be able to share the compensation, financial freedom possibility story. • You need to tell the timing story. • You need to tell the support story. • You need to be able to ask a person to take action at the end of a presentation. • You need to be able to introduce yourself and tell your story.

And because you are outer-dependent, here’s what you need:

• You need the support mechanism. • You need somebody else to show up. • You need the big event.

NOTES:

The person with the market makes the money.

All the people doing the presentations, all the people hosting the meetings, they are all the leaders in the market.

Strategy #1 for Presenting: Refining Your PresentationI observed that the number one earner in the company did his presentation the same every single time…same jokes, same pauses, same intro and close. So I recorded his presentation and transcribed it word for word on a legal pad. I then recorded my own voice into an audio cassette, over and over, doing it with a bit more intensity and energy each time, but not deviating from the script. I had to learn my lines, so I listened to it in the car 5,000 times. I could present any segment, any time. My own presentation burned a groove in my mind.

Saying the Words Made All the Difference

By learning the words and using the words, not only will it do something for you, it will have an impact on your team.

• My team looked at me different. • They started to perform. • They started to drag people in front of me. • I started to become the presentation. • I brought credibility about it.

• I was their security blanket, because I learned the presentation.

I became somebody. I became known. I was an invisible student. I am not going to be an invisible distributor.

Course 4 — training others

The next part of my evolution in my Network Marketing career was learning how to do a training, and becoming a thought leader in my organization. It was about helping others to achieve a result.

Borrowing Stories From My HeroesI started off with very low skills. So I borrowed from my heroes, such as the late Jim Rohn, and Les Brown. I also borrowed from top people in my company. I’d tell the stories and put the training in between. And the good news is that you’ll have ample opportunity to practice:

• With your team. • With your local market. • You can go speak in somebody’s home market. • You can do anything you want to do as many times as you want to do it.

EXERCISE:

Who are some of your heroes that you can borrow from? What stories can you share from them? And where can you practice? Write it down.

What Led to the Life Change • I was willing to be embarrassed. • I was willing to prove somebody else wrong. • I was willing to take action before I was 100% prepared. • I was also willing to prepare. • I was willing to put in the work to become competent. • I was willing to stand up for myself.

EXERCISE:

What are you willing to do to change your life? What is important to you when it comes to delivering your presentations? Who do you need to become in order to put yourself in that place of confidence, and what do you need to do? How will you prepare and how much time are you committed to that preparation? Take time to think about your answers and how it can impact your business and change your life.

Course 5 — Busting Beliefs aBout self-Worth

Over the course of my life, I’ve had self-worth issues, and a consequence of that is no matter how much money I made, I was always broke. I kept sabotaging my success because of my own self-worth and worthiness issues.

Jim Rohn had a major impact in overcoming these issues. I hired him for an event, and when he received a big round of applause when going on stage, he said, “Thank you very much for that beautiful round of applause. I deserve it.” It was his way of making a point about self-worth. That it’s okay to believe in yourself. It’s okay for you to be able to take a compliment and say thank you.

Until I realized that I was worthy, deserving and capable, I continued to self-sabotage:

• I sabotaged my success by being inconsistent with my team. • I sabotaged my success by making bad investments. • I sabotaged my success by not following through on what I said I was going to do.

It is an ongoing struggle, but once I busted my beliefs about self-worth, it had a huge impact on my path to Unstoppable Confidence.

EXERCISE:

Are there areas of your life and of your business where you recognize you have challenges with self-worth and worthiness? Dig deep, and put yourself in those moments of discomfort or pain where you felt you were sabotaging your progression because you felt you weren’t worthy or deserving. Write them down, so that you can easily snap out of those moments when they come up. Even a physical snap of your fingers will trigger you to remember you are worthy, deserving and capable.

Then create ways that you can reinforce your worthiness. It could be embracing feedback when you do a presentation. It could be embracing your success from signing up new customers or distributors. It could even be making a big, bold, audacious decision or setting a goal you thought was beyond your reach, and setting out to achieve it. Stack all these references. This is where you need to go mentally any time those sabotaging thoughts of self-worth creep into your mind. You can even say daily incantations such as: I am worthy, and I deserve all the abundance life has to bring me. Create an incantation that resonates with you and repeat it daily until it becomes a belief in your nervous system. By consciously shifting your mindset about your worthiness, your life and your Network Marketing business will transform.

Course 6 — 3 sets of Beliefs for BeComing unstoppaBly Confident

Now we’re going to shift a bit, and I’m going to provide you with a little more structure by sharing strategies that will help you go from lack of confidence to confidence. There is this gap between the two, where you must face your fear and do it anyway. It’s about acting confident, even though you’re not feeling it. It’s about playing your part a little bit until it becomes real for you.

3 Fundamental Belief Sets to Becoming Unstoppably ConfidentThere are three belief sets that, if you utilize them, will guide you to Unstoppable Confidence. Setting yourself up with these three belief sets can get you anywhere you want to go. Any place you’d like to go.

Belief Set #1: Be Willing to Fail Publicly and Handle It. This is NOT about failing and crawling under the covers. It’s about failing and handling it. Rolling with it. If you’re authentic, people understand that you are a work in progress and are very forgiving. What they don’t forgive is a phony. The key is being raw and authentic, and fess up when you mess up.

Belief Set #2: Giving Proper Meaning to Feedback. When others give feedback, the key to remember is that it is their feedback. It’s up to you to decide whether or not it will serve you and of if it is even true. It is their opinion. You can frame it in a way that will help you grow, or you can choose to decline the feedback. Give proper and appropriate meaning to situations:

• When you are failing at something.

• When you are not getting any results.

• Or no matter what happens to you.

And remember, that feedback could be from yourself. We can be our own biggest critic. Rather than focus on what went wrong,focus on how you can learn from it. How can you make it better next time?

You have to be discerning if you want to build up your confidence.

Belief Set #3: PLAN, DO, REVIEW. This is the secret weapon for building confidence. I learned this when I was looking to potentially help a company launch an education product for children in Network Marketing. This strategy was the cornerstone of their entire learning system. Here’s the simple process:

1. They come in each day and plan.

2. They do that plan.

3. At the end of the day, they review that plan.

4. They use this review to create a better plan tomorrow.

Listening to Plan, Do, Review from a kid’s perspective embedded in my mind that, I can accomplish anything with that. Anything. I am unstoppable with that. It is a way that you can experience quantum leaps, in whatever outcome you desire to achieve.

EXERCISE:1. On a scale of 1–100, 100 being the highest or most likely, how willing are you to publicly fail

and deal with it?

2. On a scale of 1–100, how good do you think you are right this moment, at giving proper weight and meaning to somebody else’s opinion?

3. If you Plan, Do, Review, are there people that you need to follow up with right now? If so, how many?

PLAN, DO, REVIEW THE FOLLOW UP

Next is creating a PLAN for following up with these people.

• Here’s how we’re going to do it. • Here’s how we’re going to say it. • Here’s how we’re going to lead them to it. • Here’s the process for making that happen.

We’re gonna bite the bullet and DO it.

And we’re going to REVIEW what worked after following up with these people.

• What worked? What didn’t?

• Where are you falling down?

• What are objections that you are getting that you didn’t know how to address?

• Could you ask more questions?

• Could you do it face-to-face instead of over the phone?

Rating Yourself on the Follow Up This is a rating tool that you can use post follow up. It doesn’t matter where you start, just so you know where you are.

1. On a scale of 1–100, rate yourself on your follow up.

2. What can you do to increase your rating on your follow up? Could you plan better? Could you prepare better? Could you do more face-to-face? Could you be prepared to answer any objection? Jot down your action plan now. What will you do to rip off the band-aid, run through the dark room, and deal with it?

How Crisis Impacts LeadersBad Leaders are destroyed by crisis. It could be a change in the compensation plan, or a change in ingredient in your product. It could be negative or unfair press about your company.

Good Leaders embrace and improve with crisis. They survive. They see crisis as an opportunity to build something even more important and to be something more important. They spend 5% of their time on the problem and 95% of the time on the solution vs. Bad Leaders who do the opposite.

Confidence is a Two-Way StreetWhen one person sees a crisis, another can see an opportunity. By reframing the meaning of crisis, you’ll gain confidence. It is a two-way street:

• In one sense, you come in with confidence and look for opportunities in the midst of crisis.

• On the other side, if you lack confidence, crisis shows up, you can use it to build some confidence.

Tips for Facing an Obstacle1. Be objective. Put it in its proper perspective. Don’t magnify it.

2. Control your emotions. Choose to see the good and steady your nerves.

3. Ignore what disturbs or limits others. Take a look at what average people do in the face of crisis and make a decision that it’s not going to be you. Perception, Action, Will.

The Impact of Building Our ConfidenceThere are multiple reasons for building our confidence. It could be to grow. It could be to grow stronger. It could be to change the world. It could be to make the world a better place. It could be taking care of the people that we love.

What are some reasons for building your confidence? What is your why that drives you to be your better, optimized you? Why is it important that you achieve a level of confidence in your life and in your business? Dig deep and take the time to discover this within yourself. The Impact of Emotions on ConfidenceHave you noticed that those who lack confidence are slaves to their emotions? They rage, are fearful, and their default is a painful vs. resourceful emotion. That’s where they live emotionally, and they repeat it over and over and over, like an addiction.

Those with confidence have learned to master their emotions. They easily discern and deflect what is not true. You can say any mean, hurtful things, and they are still in control of their emotions.

Something that my father taught me and has served me well is to be slow to an emotional response. Once you say the words, they can’t be recalled, and can change a relationship in a negative way. Take the time to be deliberate, respond when your emotional level is stable vs. lashing out, and approach it from a place of detachment from the high emotion after you’ve had a chance to process it and think it through.

Part of our emotional response has to do with our judgments. You can’t serve people or yourself if you are coming from a place of judgment. It could be judgment about people, the opportunity, the products, ourselves. The key to remember is that when we master our emotions, we control our perception of the world and whether we judge or not.

What We Can ControlThe truth is, there are many things we can control: our emotions, our judgments, our creativity, our attitude, even our perspective…how we view situations, people, circumstances. There are external factors that are out of our control. We can make the decision to shift those we can control to the positive so they are beneficial to ourselves and to others and help achieve our outcomes.

The concept that the obstacle is the gift is a crazy idea for most people. Figure out how that obstacle can actual work for you and serve you.

The Truth About ProcrastinationHere are some questions to ask about Procrastination that bring awareness to key distinctions about what it isn’t or doesn’t do. Answer with a yes or no.

• Does Procrastination serve you?

• Is it something that you admire in yourself?

• Is it something that will create the future that you deserve?

• Is it something that other people respect in you?

It can be a source of comfort at times, feeling you don’t have to do something right away. Another way of being a source of comfort is making lists. The challenge is, some things often never make it off the list and you just rewrite it every time.

In a book by Brian Tracy entitled, Eat That Frog, Brian advises to take the thing that’s bugging you the most, the ugliest thing on the list, and just eat the frog, and get it over with.

Tips for Crushing ProcrastinationTIP #1: Things Set Into Motion Tend to Stay in Motion. It’s a universal law that once things get into motion, they tend to stay in motion. It can be starting with an appointment and telling our story and building on it. Do something at least once a day. What are three things you can do today to take action? What is your strategy for setting them and keeping them in motion? Write it down.

TIP #3: Set a Deadline. Make it a deadline you can’t back out of. Proclaim it to the world. For the thing that you selected for Tip #2, what deadline will you set? What is the due date? Who will you proclaim it to? Write it down.

Outer-Directed vs. Inner-Directed PeopleIn Rollo May’s book, Man’s Search for Himself, he introduces the concept of outer-directed people and inner-directed people.

“The majority of people are outer-directed people. They’re totally impacted by other peoples’ opinions and expectations. To truly become mature, to grow up as an adult, to gain true confidence, you need to become an inner-directed person. A person who comes up with your own conclusions. A person who is driven by your own code.”

Inner Directivity is difficult today because most of us are Outer-Directed.

• How many likes am I getting? How many shares am I getting? Is anybody commenting? • How many birthday wishes did I get?

• How many people showed up for my event? • How many people listened to my training?

We’re driven by and rewarded by that like little kids. I encourage you to make a decision to generally be inner-directed.

6 Keys to Achieving Competence in Order to Get Confidence

KEY #1: Study. You’re going to get the information you need and study, study, study.

KEY #2: Practice. Role play. Practice with somebody else.

KEY #3: Performance – Plan, Do, Review. After you practice, you go out and perform. And then you Plan, Do and Review.

KEY #4: Modeling. Modeling other peoples’ behavior, action, practices, will help you develop competence.

KEY #5: Teach it to Other People. This will increase your competence because of the repetition.

KEY #6: Consistency. You lose your confidence and competence if you don’t do something for an extended period of time and have to start over again. You also lose your momentum. Keep your act sharp, stay tight, and stay relevant.

EXERCISE:

Create a plan that will implement all of these keys, starting from the beginning. What is an area of your business that you want to master, to become not only confident, but competent in? Write it down and create your plan for achieving competence in this area.

Eventually, I didn’t need to step into that confident person. I was that confident person.
