SOPHIE’S STORY.With an always present smile and her eyes fixed on the moun-

tains, Sophie Lechasseur ran towards her dream of skiing. Every

day, on every slope, following the snow where it fell, and leav-

ing her tracks as soon as it landed. Forty-five minutes from her

village, Saint- Rivière du Loup in Quebec, at the altitude of 240m

sits the Club du Mont-Saint-Mathieu. There Sophie found her

wings and really began to fly, winning every race she entered

from the age of five. Skiing became her sole desire, winning in

order to keep skiing, learning to hit the gates better and cleaner,

faster and faster. Sophie continued to make progress and loved

the speed. Her times astonished her coach who recognized that

with more training she could achieve

even more. Making it in the FIS National

Top 15 wasn’t bad – but for Sophie – not

good enough. “At 18, I had to face facts.

No money, no extra coaching, no national

competition let alone at the international

level. But with the benefit of hindsight,

I’m proud of my loyalty to my unknown

little regional club.” Instead Sophie

became a coach for the kids, and then

a year later, school was over. Her social

science studies did little to reassure her

parents. Her history would be created on

skis, her geography lessons would follow

the storm cycles, finally landing her in

Whistler, British Columbia – the legendary

realm of freeride in North America.

She spent five seasons skiing with

English-speaking friends who she didn’t

always understand, commuting to Quebec

to recover from a broken ankle, and play-

ing in soccer matches with her team.

“I didn’t want to end up a ski bum, so I

went back to my studies in 2007 to become

a primary school teacher so I could find a

job teaching in Whistler.” Back in class on

her terms, and always keeping an eye on

the weather to make time for the deepest

days were magical years. An enchanted

interlude when she could devour snow like

a plate of poutine after fasting. “These

years were really good fun!”

Then in the winter of 2014/15, Sophie

came to France. What was supposed to

be a three-week stay lasted twice as long.

“I wanted to discover the couloirs, the

technique of climbing with ropes, incred-

ible powder like we never see at home.

And the ease of getting to the mountains.

Two hours on the road and you’re where

it’s snowing, you can move between

France, Switzerland and Italy! It’s magic,

we don’t have that sort of proximity at

home!” The discovery of ski mountain-

eering amongst this fabulous playground

gave her another angle of attack and

allowed her to get the most out of her

time. The steep slopes were dizzying. She

learnt friendship French style. “When I was in Whistler, there

was a language barrier. Here, from the moment I arrived, I was

adopted and taken everywhere, to dozens of spots… I couldn’t

leave. From there on, living in France became my main goal.”

Having already fallen in love with the country, and soon after-

wards a Frenchman, in the summer of 2016 Sophie settled

in the Tarentaise valley. And in the midst of all this came a

brand-new contract with Lange. She can now see the French

summits from her window and watch the surrounding area

turn white. Always applying herself to each objective and

committed in her choices, she took the

technical test to begin teaching children

in the valley. She travels to Georgia and

Norway testing and committing herself

on steep slopes, training both physically

and mentally to prepare herself. Hiking in

winter, cycling in summer, gaining pre-

cision in her movements without losing

speed. Through her window, Sophie’s eyes

shine brightly as she thinks about all of

the ski stories still waiting to unfold in this

new movie of her life. Told in her original

language of course, but definitely sub-ti-

tled in French.

Shin Control technology is an asymmetric tongue designed specifically for women to distribute the pressure applied by the tongue over the entire shin bone. Shin Control offers women skiers optimal comfort while retaining the required precision and responsiveness to control the ski.

We constantly improve our work, seeking to create boots that

allow skiers to experience more sensations, comfort and control

thanks to our technologies.

NATURAL SKI STANCELange boots are built with the most efficient, neutral and modern upright stance, derived from our World Cup Race Department boots. Our unique Natural Stance compliments modern ski designs by providing more efficient power trans-fer on shaped and rockered skis, result-ing in less quad fatigue for better, longer ski days.

CANTINGNaturally, legs have a tendency to go toward the outside of the body. Lange boots allow you to adjust the canting +/- 1,5°.

FORWARD LEANThe forward lean of the cuff determines the leg position in the boot. Lange boots provide enhanced fore-aft balance with 12° forward lean without spoiler and 16° with spoiler.

RAMP ANGLEThe ramp angle is more or less import-ant depending on the performance level of the boot. The more inclined the foot is, the easier it is to initiate a turn, but this also causes a decline in stability in the turn. Lange boots feature the lowest possible ramp angle (4°), improving sta-bility throughout the turn.

FULL LINE OF THERMOFORMABLE LINERS

We have collected 3D scans of over 40,000 individual feet in order

to better understand the subtleties of the foot, and different

foot types. We’ve collaborated with our network of boot-fitting

professionals to better gain the insights in order to constantly

improve our products.

Our new Dual 3D Liner is the result. Providing the latest inno-

vation in terms of instant out-of-box fit, our Dual 3D Liners are

thermoformable and features external and internal 3D molding.

- The 3D internal design perfectly wraps the foot and lower leg for

our most comfortable anatomic fit.

- The 3D external design perfectly matches the inner shell for the

most precise and accurate power transmission.

Remove liner from the boot, remove insole from the liner.

Put the liners into the oven for 7 to 8 minutes.

We recommend to use gloves, because the liner is hot (no danger just conveniency).

Take one liner off from the oven, leave the second one, stop the heating. Put the insole into the liner.

Make the consumer step into the liner.

Widen the overlap of the boot with your hand

while the consumer step in to the boot

with the liner.

Make sure the liner is not folding close to the heel.

Put your hand into the liner.

Put the liner into the boot with your hand
