Work InspirationStudent Workbook
Firstly, welcome to ISS.
For many of you, this will be your first journey into the world of work and I’m thrilled that the experience will be with us. There will be lots for you to see, do and learn during your time here.
You will be hands on and involved, learning valuable new skills and meeting people across the business who can share their own experiences with you.
Facilities management is a fast-paced, exciting industry and we are passionate about what we do and the opportunities we create.
I hope you will be just as excited to be joining our team and that you leave inspired for the future and the choices that lie ahead.
Most importantly enjoy it and make the most of the opportunity. Perhaps we will be seeing some of you again in the near future.

When applying for a job a good CV is extremely important. This will be the first opportunity that you have to sell yourself to a potential employer. Having a CV that stands out can lead to an interview which can then lead to a job.
At the beginning of your placement you will be given a CV template to complete ready for the final day. Fill in each section with the relevant information. You can use the tasks that you complete and the skills that you develop during your placement to help with this.

At the end of your placement with ISS you will complete a short mock interview for the role that you have been doing. You will then receive feed-back on how you did.
In order to prepare for the interview you will need to:
• Researchthecompany• Findoutwhatskillsareneededfortherole.• Thinkofexamplesofhowyouhavedemonstrated those skills.• Thinkabouthowyouwillpresentyourself (i.e. clothing, attitude).• Thinkaboutthewaysinwhichyoucould positively contribute and add value to ISS.
You will have the opportunity to find out some of the information you need and ask people for advice and tips during your placement.
