Frequently Asked Questions
What if a central CCMS system has already been set up independently of SAP Solution Manager ?
A central CCMS system running in a system other than SAP Solution Managercan be integrated. The Alert Inbox contained in the Work Center “SystemMonitoring” will display centrally collected alerts from a remote CCMS system.
Administration functions may be called either centrally from SAP Solution Manager or locally in the monitored system.
Does the monitoring system need to be of the highest NetWeaver Release ?
Solution Manager 7.0 runs on NetWeaver 7.0 and will do so until 2009. However, SAP recommends you to implement the newest NetWeaver and Solution Manager support packages.
How can you monitor systems running on SAP NetWeaver 7.1 ?
Monitoring information from 7.1 systems can be displayed in SAP Solution Manager.
Administration functions based on 7.1 are either being downported or made available as links inside the work centers.
