Keep Walking! 30 Days! 30 Miles! On September 21, at 2:00 pm we will all meet in the Sycamore Court-yard for a Village group photo and walk in honor of World Alzheimer’s day! I have cancelled Fast Food & Trad-er Joe’s. There is not enough time since we need to be at the Alzhei-mer’s walk by 2:00 pm. We will put it on the October calendar. The Monday Movie Matinee will be Julia & Julie. It is a film which con-trasts the life of chef Julia Child in the early years of her culinary career with the life of young New York-er Julie Powell, who aspires to cook all 524 recipes in Child's cookbook in 365 days, a challenge she de-scribed on her popular blog, which made her a published author. Join us at 1:30 pm in the Foundation Social Hall. News & Views will not be held on Tuesday, Sep 21. It will resume in October on the regularly scheduled days on the fsh patio. Myers Lunch Theatre: Tickets have been purchased. Those attending will please bring $47 per person, which includes the $3 processing fee they charge. Wii Bowling is up and running again! Please join us at the next scheduled time, which is Tuesday, Sep 21 at 3:30 pm. If you have not played before and want to come see what it is about, please feel free to come and watch! Craft Class: Are you interested in making a pretty bowl from yarn? This interesting technique is simple and allows you to create a useful dec-orative bowl. Sign up on the app or call me! Ext. 1053.

Resident Activities Laura Roman

Many of our residents have created activities that include other residents. These activities are not part of our Leisure Services and Activities Department services, other than to assist with scheduling rooms. Since it is not an activity supported by our staff, the resident captain may invite whomever they would like. In the past, we have included these activities on our calendar — but that may have erroneously implied that they are “open” to everyone. Moving forward, all private card games and activities will be eliminated from the calendar and not additional support will be provided by WVN. We ask all residents to respect each other—and not attend an activity that is private. If the activity is supported by our staff—it will be open to all. Thank you for your understanding.

Brain Teaser

You are in a place called Wally’s World and there is only one law. There is a mirror, but no reflection. There is pizza with cheese, but not sausage. There is pepper, but no salt. There is a door, yet no entrance or exit. What is the law? Last week’s answer: 9 + 8+ 7 + 65 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 99

Benton County Wind Farm

IL residents visited the Benton County Wind Farm and got an up close and personal look at the huge windmills that power grids across the nation.

Below they stand in front of a small portion of replica blade painted with a fowl. The Benton County windfarm is located in Fowler, Indiana.
