You’re The Reason We Shine

I’m in the sixth grade, it used to be new

But I wouldn’t be comfortable without the help of you.

You’ve dedicated so much of your time,

So that South Brunswick schools can truly shine.

I’d like to thank you--right here, right now

We’d all like to say something, but we may not know how.

You’ve given time and ideas, which all contribute

They’re the reason why our excellence will continue.

Without your help I wonder where our district would be,

You’ve created a great environment that all families can see.

One more time, thank you, from the bottom of my heart,

Your dedication is what sets our school district apart.

Free Verse Poem Who is behind all of our learning? Who makes it possible for us to know? Going to school makes our brains start churning, But who is behind the flow? Who is dedicated, persistent and kind? Who helps South Brunswick succeed? These people are not hard to find, Just look at 231 Black Horse Lane, I concede. South Brunswick Board members are the ones we are searching for, They are the caring and helping ones, These are the people who help us rise from the floor, We should all be thankful many tons. As time goes by, and we grow, We learn many new things, But always we will say bravo, To the board members, who gave us that much needed spring!

They choose our foods And lift our moods With new supplies and field trips For the young ones They teach them tons, Tying shoes and doing coat zips Years later, we learn fractions, And consequences for actions, And how to do research tasks But everyone, From eighteen to eight-plus-one, Must do the NJASKs. I must admit You guys are fit To organize every school From planning how many pencils to buy To reassuring the sixth grade guys That there is no pool!
