Street Paws, Inc had an amazing 2014 thanks to the many volun-

So far in 2015, we have had 3 adoptions, Chico, Tallula and Rooter

Sugar's owner brought her to our vet to be euthanized. Luckily my vet would not do so and contacted Street Paws to help her. She is a sweet and spunky girl. There was a very young child in the family that would not leave poor Sugar alone. The child was warned re-peatedly not to handle her in the manner in which he was so finally Sugar bit him. Her skin was painful and it hurt to touch her in certain areas. She is 10 years old and needs a home without small children. She has been spayed and has had her teeth cleaned. She was very neglected and covered in fleas so she is re-covering from skin irritation. She is currently in a foster home with other dogs and is doing

well.

Roscoe and Shadow were raised together

since they were puppies. They were taken

to the vet regularly and always received any

medical attention they needed. Their owner

brought them to the vet for vaccines and

said he would be back to pick them up and

then never returned. Attempts to contact

him have been ignored. So now these 2 are

lost and confused living at a temporary

shelter and really need a new home where

they can live out the rest of their lives. They

are both sweet and loving dogs. We would

like to see them get a home together if pos-

sible, but will adopt out separately.

Street Paws was contacted one late Friday evening by a concerned citi-zen. She was walking in the Ingles parking lot in Locust Grove and heard a kitten screaming in the sewer. He had been there at least since Thursday. She contacted 911 but they did not have anyone available to help so I put out a plea with my volunteers to see if anyone was in the area. 2 of the Street Team jumped into action and immediately headed to Ingles. Once there they assessed the situation and one of the volun-teers fearlessly climbed down the manhole to find Rooter. He was crying and she kept calling him until he could make his way to her. He was chest deep in cold water. He was only approximately 4-5 weeks old. He was adopted right away!

Zoey came to Street Paws in pretty bad shape. She had the worst case of demodectic mange the vet

had ever seen and her skin was raw and bleeding all over. She was in a lot of pain and her feet were ex-

tremely swollen and bleeding. Sometimes dogs like her do not survive. She is currently in a foster home

and has recovered wonderfully. She loves kids, other animals and of course she loves treats!
