Principal’s Message:
Dear Woodward Families,
Happy New Year!!! We hope that everyone
had a wonderful holiday with their families
and friends. As we enter the new year, many
make resolutions to improve in an area.
Our resolution to you is to “ up our game” in
our service to you and your child. The reason
we are, is to serve you and your family.
Thank you for allowing us the opportunity.
Sincerely,
Dr. Carla F. Cunigan

Dates to Remember
Page 2
Mrs. Warren, School Counselor
Students, please remember to follow
ALL of the school expectations:
1. Be Respectful
2. Be Responsible
3. Be Safe
Our Character word for January is
Commitment. This means:
I will try to do my best each day.
School-wide PBIS
The store will be open during lunch time on
every Friday for all students that have at
least 5 Violet days in a row.
Mrs. Warren, School Counselor
The cold weather has returned. Please make sure
your children are dressed appropriately for these
cold days. Hats, boots, snow pants, warm coats,
and gloves or mittens are essential for the students
to be able to enjoy their time at play outside.
We will be going outside as long as the
temperature is above freezing (32 and above). We
want them to be comfortable while enjoying these
brisk winter days.
Parents, we all know the weather has been changing.
Please REMIND your student(s) to keep their coats
on during outside time (recess).
When the temperature is above freezing (32 degrees),
your child will likely be outside for at least 30 minutes
daily for recess. Several students have to be reminded
to keep their coats on. Please support our efforts in
keeping your child warm and safe.
Thanks for your support!

Nurse Notes
Mrs. Devitt, BSN, RN
You can pick up germs from the things you do everyday. Wash your hands so you don’t get sick.
1. Wet your hands with clean, running water
(warm or cold) and apply soap.
2. Rub your hands together to make a lather
and scrub them well; be sure to scrub the
backs of your hands, between your fingers,
and under your nails.
3. Continue rubbing your hands for at least 20
seconds. Need a timer? Hum the "Happy
Birthday" song from beginning to end twice.
4. Rinse your hands well under running water.
Just a Reminder
