2015/18 Options
• First step in their 14 – 19 education or training.
• Results at 16 open or close the doors for their next step.
• All GCSE exams at the end of Y11.
Core subjects
• English – Language and Literature• Mathematics • Science – at least core and additional• Geography or History • PDS – RE• Relationship education
Drugs, alcohol and safety
Citizenship
Finance, law and citizenship• ICT• PE
Pathways.
• Equal value, but with small differences to suit the students.
• All pathways have choices within them
• Provides an experience that stimulates, motivates and extends ALL learners as well as preparing them for their next step.
Blue pathway • Core curriculum - English, Maths,
Science, Geography/History
• 2 vocational courses which are equivalent to GCSEs
• 1 support class - developing essential basic skills
Green pathway
• Core curriculum - English, Maths, Science, Geography/History
• 1 vocational courses equivalent to GCSEs at grades A* - C.
• 1 other course which maybe GCSEs or other equivalents.
Red pathway
Core curriculum - English, Maths, Science, Geography/History, MFL
Pupils get two other choices from GCSEs or equivalents.
Purple pathway
Core curriculum - English, Maths, Science, Geography/History, MFL
Allows the students to achieve the English Baccalaureate
Pupils get two other choices one of which will be a GCSE equivalent.
