Is a continuation of LCL!, however LCL! is not a pre-requisite. LCL! Film focuses on the development of film from early film processes to digital animation. Students will mimic particular innovators, such as Melies and develop longer films over several weeks as the class and movie styles progress. This course focuses on the analysis of older films, therefore students will spend several periods discussing the literary, cinematic and theatrical qualities of the films that were impactful to film as we know it today. One of the novels read in this course is The Wizard of Oz by Frank L. Baum. Students will write several essays on the merits of the films watched in class.
