URBAS Energietechnik developes and produces plants which generate electrical and thermal energy fromwood biomass. URBAS Energietechnik has since taken a leading position across Europe in this technologysector for planning and installing district heating plants and combined heat and power plants.

Over the last decades we have picked up the idea of generating wood gas, a technology which cameabout approximately 100 years ago, and have successfully developed it further through many years ofresearch and work.

The result of this is a completely automatic plant designed to convert wood fuel into useable electricity. By developing compact wood gas CHP plants, URBAS has underpinned its technology leadership in thefield of clean energy production through biomass.

A combustible gas - the wood gas - is

generated from wood within a reactor by

means of thermochemical processes.

The dust and tar components are then

extracted from the raw gas through a

series of specially designed filter systems.

Cleaned wood gas is then utilized for the

production of combined heat and power

through the use of a gas motor and

generator system.

In contrast to other CHP technologies

that are based on the combustion of

biomass and which require a working

medium (water for the steam turbine;

Thermal oil for the ORC process), the

wood gas CHP system does not need

any intermediate medium.

This results in an increased electrical

efficiency throughout the entire

system.

We believe that our service package fully covers the feasibility calculations for the investment decision, the realization of the wood gas CHP plant, and the training of the operating staff.

Each plant is manufactured in house and delivered to the customer after a series of functionality tests.

After start-up we competently provide the plant operator with an efficient, reliable and effective support service.

The system components mounted in the container based frame, combined with our complex designand construction form a very compact, tidy unit. This allows the installation time on site to be kept to a minimum.

Our service package/modular:

Wood Gas CHP-Operat ion

Operation of the CHP plant is fully automatic to a large extent.

All control-related parameters are constantly monitored, recorded and balanced whilst beingshown on the visualization display.

An integrated Telenot system provides information on the current operating condition of theplant. Corrective interventions can be made at any time through remote maintenance via a standard internet connection.

URBAS wood gas CHP plants can be realized as stand-alone plants or they can be operated inconjunction with existing district heating plants thereby forming a decentralized energy supplyof electricity and heat from renewable energy sources.
