ECKANKAR: Religion of the Light and Sound of God
Eckankar teaches that there is an audible life current known as the ECK, or Holy Spirit, that connects each of us with the heart of God. We can experience the ECK as Light and
Sound. Through study and practice of the Spiritual Exercises of ECK, we learn to recognize the Light and Sound of God as It touches our lives and brings increased divine love.
The spiritual leader of Eckankar is the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master, Sri Harold Klemp. The Mahanta is the inner, or spiritual form of the Living ECK Master. The Mahanta gives inner guidance through dreams, Soul Travel, and the Spiritual Exercises of ECK. Harold Klemp’s inspiring talks and writings, and his practical approach to spirituality, help thousands of people worldwide find greater freedom, wisdom and love. His teachings uplift and help people recognize their own experiences with the Light and Sound of God.

How to Have
More Love
in Your Life
Workshop
Saturday, August 8th
2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Please join us for a special workshop fa-
cilitated by Fran Blackwell. This work-
shop is open to the public, so bring your
friends and family members. It’s a topic
that appeals to nearly everyone. Bring a
dish to share at the potluck meal follow-
ing the workshop. The workshop is free,
but donations are gratefully accepted.
The following Sunday morning, August
9th, Fran will be the guest speaker for our
worship service.
ECK Picnics
in Utah Parks
Mark your calendar for October 4th for the
next picnic at Nunn Park in Provo.
Below is a picture of the group who enjoyed
the picnic in Ogden in May.
This is a good opportunity for the public to
observe Eckists in a casual setting. It’s also
a time for Eckists to have fun while hand-
ing out HU cards.
Easy Way
Discourses Class
An Easy Way Satsang is now forming in Utah. This is the first in the series of 17 annual dis-courses written by the spiritual leader of ECKANKAR, Harold Klemp, for members of Eckan-kar. Each discourse has 12 les-sons to be studied one per month. Dates and locations will be decided once the class mem-bers have a chance to get togeth-er and determine what will work best for them.
You may become a member by visiting the www.eckankar.org website. There is no charge for membership, but there is an an-nual suggested donation. For first-year members, the suggest-ed donation begins at $60 for an individual or $120 for a family.
Please call the ECK Center: 801-542-8070 to let us know you are interested.
ECK Booth
at Spiritual Fairs
On September 26th we will have our ECK
booth at the 2015 Mind - Body Awareness
Expo at Stansbury Park in Tooele County.
Below is a picture of Rita Pire at the New
Consciousness Expo at the South Towne Ex-
po Center in April.
Whenever we have a booth, people stop to
spin the wheel and ask spiritual questions.
Guest Speaker: Fran Blackwell A member of Eckankar since 1971, Fran has spoken,
conducted trainings and presented workshops at
many Eckankar Seminars and events around the
world, including South America, Trinidad/Tobago,
Singapore, Paris, Netherlands, Switzerland and al-
most everywhere in the U.S.
Fran served as the Regional ECK Spiritual Aide for
Massachusetts, where she oversaw Eckankar activi-
ties in that state. For many years she has managed
the Roundtables, small discussions on spiritual top-
ics, at major Eckankar seminars. She was the vehi-
cle through which the ECK Consecration Ceremony
manifested.
Fran will tell you she’s a lover of God and all life. Her passion is teaching and
attending classes to study the Living Word, because she is refined in the presence
of others. She strives each day to live in a state of grace, to see the moving hand
of God each moment.
Fran writes poetry that inspires, uplifts and touches the heart and has a book of
poetry, See the Fingerprints of God. She was married to world-renown jazz drum-
mer Ed Blackwell for 34 years until his passing. She currently lives in Florida
and has three children and 14 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
