Forty buildings make up the main campus in Silver City. A mix of registered historical buildings with modern state-of-the art facilities provides for a traditional campus setting with contemporary styles. Students learn in classrooms that represent living history.

WNMU is the only four-year university in New Mexico to win the prestigious Zia Award from Quality New Mexico. Commitment to quality in education has been a cornerstone since 1893.

Professors are one of WNMU’s greatest resources. More than 93% of our professors earned the highest degree in their fields. They are always accessible. Students receive personal attention with small class sizes. At WNMU you are more than just a number. Programs such as the Student Success Seminar are designed to help students succeed during their four-year academic careers.

WNMU offers more than 40 bachelor degrees in 70 fields of study. A growing number of graduate degree programs are available, including the Master Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. WNMU is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and several accreditation bodies.

TransfersWNMU partners with universities and community colleges throughout the region. Transferring credits and/or degree programs is easy.

Western Undergraduate ExchangeThe WUE program lowers tuition for students from AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, MT, NV, ND, OR, SD, UT, WA and WY. Resident tuition waivers are available to students in Arizona, Colorado and El Paso, TX.
