Petra Bajeats revenge

On Sunday, 24.3.2019, Petra Bajeat (FRA, photo of her WR in long jump) was beaten in the high jump by the German Petra Koliwer. They both share the world record now.

On Monday the French managed a revenge in the long jump. It was impressive how Petra Bajeat improved her own world longjump record by 3 cm to 5.57 m and demonstrated her versatilityon a high level. Her German rival Petra achieved 4th place.

Another world record in the long jump could be seen on that day as well: the US-American Neringa Jakstiene in the age group W55 improved her own record by 22 cm to 5.22 m. She was as well honoured by a polish guest at this event because he gave a trophy to her in memory of his wife who had a passion for long jump and passed away too early.

A challenging cross country course

The participants liked the cross country trails, which were varied on soft forest paths and had challenging profile. Some places with big roots were covered with soil, similarly a concrete road which crosses the course. The 2km long lap had to be run three or four times, depending on the age.So the spectators had the possibility to cheer on the runners several times. World Champion M70 was KUNINGAS Kauko (FIN, Bib 895), Silver in M70 won THOMAS Jean (Bib 1164, FRA). The first one at the finish SMIDA Oldrich (Bib 476, CZE), was disqualified because he did not wear a valid national jersey of Czech Republic. He was disqualified for not wearing a valid nationalshirt.
