ICC – 2012 BUILDING & FIRE CODES
IBC 508.1.5 & IFC 911.1.5
Building Information Card approved by the fire department, which shall provide building statistics including address, height, width and type of construction; stairway access, designation, floors served, pressurization, standpipe availability; elevator bank designation, car numbers, and floors served; ventilation details, including HVAC zones, location of mechanical equipment rooms, and off-site emergency phone numbers; utilities, fuel oil tank locations, gas service locations, electrical service locations; fire protection systems details, including standpipe locations, valve locations, pump room locations; hazardous materials and locations; and, contact phone numbers for building engineers, managers and fire safety directors. The Building Information Card shall also indicate indicating the typical floor plan and detailing the building core, means of egress, fire protection systems, elevator locations, firefighting equipment and fire department access and the location fire walls, fire barriers, fire partitions, smoke barriers and smoke partitions.
NFPA-1620 PRE-INCIDENT PLANNING
5
The goal of NFPA-1620 is to: 1. provide the fire service with an understanding of
pre-incident planning and 2. information to allow them to develop a pre-incident
intelligence for target hazards in their response area.
580 Training H. Building Familiarization for Pre-Incident Planning…. Building familiarization and pre-planning, including sample forms and records, should be in accordance with the general criteria as referenced in NFPA 1620 – Standard for Pre-Incident Planning
