Challenge

Ensuring compliance with FDA requirements is sometimes difficult to manage across

multiple groups with many new employees. Company-wide processes and procedures are

defined, but monitoring of adherence to the procedures for FDA-mandated data collection is

impossible to monitor consistently and thoroughly. Enforcement of procedures is near

impossible.

Solution

Customer wants to use the technical capabilities of DPA (SAP BTP) to establish standard

company procedures for processes that involve the collection, storage, and reporting of

FDA-pertinent data. The system will require completion of the required processes in the

right order and allow for compliance monitoring and proactive alert notifications when

processes are violated.

Outcome

TBD (currently in conceptual design). The expected outcome is consistent and complete

collection and storing of required data for FDA reporting and audit purposes. This will also

reduce the reliance on training of new employees to follow the required process steps.

and other unplanned costs associated with violated service level agreements with their

customers. The solution would need to improve operational efficiency, increase automation,

and drive customer collaboration. Goal is to save $1B over four years.

Solution

Leveraging existing applications and:

▪ Automate routine, time-consuming tasks for efficiency

▪ Provide immediate or early notification of potential performance issues to users

▪ Process analysis for detection of process weaknesses

Outcome

Company-standard continuous process improvement practices will be used initially to

identify the causes of the most common and costly process issues with preventive features

added to sales order processes. First year savings are expected to be over $100M.
