• The bus companies use the ‘tap on’ and ‘tap off’data to plan for new routes or to justify the existenceof current routes.
• Currently only 50% of students travelling on the busto and from Wirreanda have an Opal card.
• Ms Young presented 2 books at this week’sassembly; Chelsea Bakes, sister of Madeline andPoppy Harper, sister of Isabella, received books fromMiss Young. These 2 big sisters have been entrustedwith the job of reading the books to their sisters andinitiating a love of reading – even at this early age!
• On Monday 11 March, straight after the schoolassembly, there will be an information session forparents who would like to know more about the LLIprogram.
• The 30 minute session will be held in the library andwill be conducted by Ms Dyball and Mrs Wilson.
• No bikes/scooters are to enter or exit through themain gates
• A large number of students have completed thesigned Bicycle/Scooter Permission and Agreementform. The school takes the issue of bicycle safetyvery seriously and it is important that students arefollowing the procedures set out by the school.

In the event that a student isshowing something for news, or has a toy that goesalong with a unit of class work, it is acceptable tobring things from home for that day, however it isadvisable that these items go back into students’bags as soon as possible.
• While all due care is taken for student’s personalitems, the school is not responsible if things gomissing or are damaged.
• Students may be considered for exemption from thetests if they have significant intellectual disability and/or significant co-existing conditions which severelylimit their capacity to participate in the tests. All otherstudents are expected to participate in the tests.

This term, our school, like many other public schools in thestate, will participate in a Department of Education initiative:the Tell Them From Me student feedback survey. The surveymeasures factors that are known to affect academicachievement and other student outcomes. The focus of theNSW-wide survey is on student well being, engagement andeffective teaching practices.
More information about the survey is available at:http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au
The survey is a great opportunity for our students to provideus with valuable and quick feedback on what they think aboutschool life, how engaged they are with school and the differentways that teachers interact with them. Capturing the voices ofour students will help improve how we do things at our school.
I want to assure you that the survey is confidential. The survey isconducted online and will typically take less than 30 minutes tocomplete. It will be administered during school hours between11 March and 12 April. Participating in the survey is entirelyvoluntary.
If you dodo notnot want your child or children to participate, pleaseask the office for a consent form and return the form to schoolby 1111 March.March. Copies of the form and FAQs are available from:http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au/information-for-parents.

Canteen NewsCanteen News
Information for new students to our school and a reminder forour 'old' students.
Children who forget to place their lunch orders before schoolstarts for the day, may only be offered a sandwich, no one willgo hungry, but as we have had several children each dayforgetting to place their orders, its making it quite difficult righton lunch time to provide hot food. If they have left their lunch orlunch order at home, they can tell their teacher who will makearrangements for a lunch to be made and an account will besent home.
If your child/children have any special dietary requirements, please come and see me and we can discuss menu options.
Please send plastic spoons etc from home if your child hassomething to eat that requires utensils. The canteen can nolonger give these items for free and will therefore charge 5ceach for plastic spoons or forks.
Ice blocks are only available at lunch, after eating time. We limittheir purchases to 1 ice block for K-2 and a maximum of 2 iceblocks for Yrs 3-6. Please discuss this with your child.
Our recess menu changes daily and it is written up on ourCanteen blackboard each day.
We urgently need more volunteers. Please come and see usif you can spare some time on a regular basis. Our schoolcommunity would greatly appreciate it and children just loveseeing a familiar face behind the counter.
