More Detailed Information on Special Projects –
1. Wireless Extended to Home -
Tanner Mobile Home project must have permanent
Structure completed by August 30.
Dave Kapavik and Paula Ross conducted a conference call
with Crown Castle discussing options for using their tower.
Unfortunately this does not sound like a viable option. David
Deitsch and Dave Kapavik will review another option, the
football field light pole option at Truitt MS.
2. Pridgeon Stadium – (physical installation)
The team decided to move forward on the installation of
wireless access points at Pridgeon Stadium. Full Coverage will
be provided in the lower deck of both the home and visitor side.
However, only partial coverage will be available for the upper
deck. CFISD, Layer 3 and Infratel plan to meet at Pridgeon
next week to review the installation at Berry and walk

Elizabeth Montes, Network AnalystPosted by: July 27, 2018
On Tuesday July 24th Elizabeth Montes and Bradley Mulligan made a walkthrough in Hamilton Elementary
and Ault Elementary in order to asset whether the schools were ready for the ECN team to install the network
equipment or not. Unfortunately Elizabeth found out that both schools were still not ready and decided to
postpone the installation of the network until the renovation work is complete.

On Wednesday July 25th Richard Martinez
(MCA) and his crew worked at the Berry
Center terminating the fiber that I requested
to support the new IDF that is going to be
installed in the Production Room.
This new IDF in the Production Room will
served to support all the video streaming that
the Berry Center does for the school district.

Operational Highlights
When 2014 Bond funding became available, CFISD
Technology designed and installed a high speed
resilient and fault-tolerant network. A major positive
result of the fault tolerance is that some components
within the network can fail without affecting the
Student’s, Teacher’s or Administrator’s ability to
access network resources or services which are
necessary to perform their jobs. Some examples
include Campus Connectivity, eSchool, Electronic
Text Books and the new VOIP telephone system.
While components can fail without negatively
affecting users, they must quickly be repaired in
order to maintain network uptime. One of the most
important responsibilities of CFISD’s ECN team is
monitoring the status of network equipment, so that
down components can be identified and repaired
before multiple failures combine to negatively affect
users. On Tuesday, July 24, 2018, David Deitsch
conducted training on Solarwinds, CFISD’s new
network monitoring system. Solarwinds is a widely
accepted best of breed network monitoring system.
