TRANSCRIPT

  • 1. What is wireless communication? In layman language it iscommunication in which informationis transferred between two or morepoints without any wire.

2. Modes of wireless communication! Bluetooth NFC (Near Field Communication) Wifi Lifi 3. What is Bluetooth? Bluetooth is a method for datacommunication that used shortrange radio links to replace cablesbetween computers and theirconnected units. Named on Danish king haraldBluetooth Developed in Scandinavia. 4. How does Bluetooth works? Bluetooth networking transmits data via low-powerradio waves. It communicates on afrequency of 2.45 gigahertz. Bluetooth doesn't require line of sightbetween communicating devices. Bluetooth can connect up to eightdevices simultaneously. Bluetooth uses a technique called spread-spectrumfrequency hopping 5. Bluetooth is essentially a networkingstandard that works at two levels: It provides agreement at the physical level --Bluetooth is a radio-frequency standard. It provides agreement at the protocol level, where products have to agree on when bitsare sent, how many will be sent at a time, andhow the parties in a conversation can be surethat the message received is the same as themessage sent. 6. Applications of bluetooth! Bluetooth speakers Bluetooth headphones Cable less connections to the printers Bluetooth keyboard Etc 7. (NEAR FIELDCOMMUNICATION) 8. What is NFC? NFC is a short-range high frequency wirelesscommunication technology that enables theexchange of data between devices over abouta 10 cm distance. It allows devices to establish peer-to-peerradio communications, passing data from onedevice to another by touching them or puttingthem very close together. 9. How NFC works? NFC came out of RFID. RFID, or radio-frequencyidentification, is the technology used by superstores tokeep track of goods, it uses electromagnetic inductionin order to transmit information. NFC is similartechnology, but standardized for consumersmartphones. NFC is a means of sending data over radio waves. Inthat sense it is similar to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, but unlikethose protocols (and like RFID) NFC can be used toinduce electric currents within passive components aswell as just send data. And it is faster than Bluetooth. 10. Benefits over Bluetooth.. The significant advantage of NFC overBluetooth is the shorter set-up time. Due to its shorter range, NFC provides ahigher degree of security than Bluetooth andmakes NFC suitable for crowded areas. NFC can also work when one of the devices isnot powered by a battery. Unlike Bluetooth, no pairing code is needed. 11. Applications NFC chips or tags are very small in size, it canbe embedded in the movie posters, real estateagent posters etc. Health care department. NFC will replace car keys, ID badges andcredit/debit cards. Implementation in food packaging, flyers andmerchandisers as well. 12. What is wifi? Wifi or wireless fidelity, allows you to access the internetwhile on the move; you can remain online while movingfrom one area to another in a wireless mode. Wifi enabled computers send and receive data indoorsand out ;anywhere within the range of a base station. Its just as fast as cable modem connection. Wifi is a generic term that refers to the IEEE 80211communications standard for wireless local areanetworks(WLANs) 13. Lifi? (light fidelity)lifi is transmission of data throughillumination by taking the fiber out of fiberoptics by sending data through LED light bulb. This varies in intensity faster than human eyecan follow. It is the fast and cheap wirelesscommunication system which is opticalversion of wifi. 14. Applications In vehicles and traffic lights. In aircrafts and underwater. Hospitals Street lamps Petroleum and Chemical industries 15. Advantages of wireless communication Wireless Speed Cost Durability Flexibility Place of device 16. Disadvantages of wirelesscommunication Power consumption Security issues Compatibility issues 17.
