    Souderton Area Community Education will be offering a variety of in-person evening classes this Winter-Spring semester. All classes will follow the current District Health & Safety guidelines found here: https://www.soudertonsd.org/district/2020-2021-school-year/health-safety-plans Class size will be limited to allow for appropriate social-distancing. All participants and instructors will wear masks. Please do not attend class if you have any symptoms of illness.

    Imagine the colorful swirls of light dancing across a crisp winter sky as your instructor guides you step

    by step to create your own Northern Lights image. Instructor will provide the canvas, acrylic paints,

    Use clay to make natural looking tealight candle holders shaped like leaves or flowers. After sculpting

    your candle holder using supplied patterns, you paint them with glaze the same night. Instructor will

    take pieces to be fired at studio kiln. Finished art may be picked up at the Souderton Area School

    District Office (760 Lower Rd.) two weeks after class. Material fee of $15 payable to instructor at class.

    Create a glittering framed mirror using colored glass shards that you will glue into place the night of

    class. You’ll take home your mirror that night while allowing it to dry for 24 hours. Finish of the

    grouting at home with grout kits provided by the instructor. All materials provided.

    Use glass and clay to create a cactus/succulent garden you’ll never have to water. Bring a colored wine

    bottle to the first night of class to be melted as your garden base. You’ll sculpt your succulents out of

    clay to represent a variety of plants and glaze them with colors of your choice. Instructor will take all

    pieces and bottle to be fired in the studio kiln. The second night of class, bring along some small (2” or

    less) pebbles or rocks to include as you arrange your cacti and finish off your garden to take home.

    Think Spring and gardening season as you create colorful, see through flower markers using small gall

    Welcome to Tabata! You’ve probably heard the word “Tabata,” but not really know what it means.

    Tabata is a form of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) that’s been proven to torch serious calories

    quickly. Each round lasts four minutes. It requires 20 seconds of all out intensity, followed by 10

    seconds of rest, repeated eight times. And when I say “all out,” I mean ALL OUT! Tabata will boost

    All Aquatics programs are dependent on Montgomery county Department of Health and SASD Safety guidelines at the time of classes. All participants will follow the guidelines in place: temperatures taken before entering the natatorium, wearing of face masks when not in the water, social distancing and no attendance if experiencing any signs of illness.

    Be advised that no spectators will be allowed in the SAHS natatorium during SACE lessons. Parents

    may wait in the lobby area for their child. Younger participants unable to be in the pool area without parents should not register for these classes.

All Souderton Area School District rules and regulations are enforced by SACE. Hospitalization/Insurance is the responsibility of every Community Education Participant. Gold Card Policy: All residents of the SASD who are 62 years of age or older are eligible to receive a Gold Card. Gold Cards may be obtained from SASD District Office, 760 Lower Road, Souderton, PA with a completed registration form (more information about Gold Cards). Gold Card holders may attend some courses offered by SACE at a discounted rate (although there may be a charge for supplies/materials.) Please provide Gold Card number a time of class registration. Refund Policy: Applies to all programs offered through SACE as well as Souderton Area Aquatics Program. A $25 non-refundable registration fee is included in each course. Course/Workshop/Driver Education cancellations must be received two weeks prior to the start of class to receive a refund (less the registration fee). Trip cancellations must be received one month before departure of trip. If SACE cancels a class or trip a refund will be issued. SACE programs will not be prorated under any circumstances. Refunds or credits cannot be given for forgotten classes—please mark your calendar! School Closing Information: If the schools in the Souderton Area School District are closed in the daytime, Evening School classes are automatically canceled. School closing: SASD website (www.soudertonsd.org); SATV (Verizon Fios Ch. 46 or Comcast Ch. 28); and the school district Hot Line 215.723.4272. Make up classes will be scheduled. *Register with email to receive email message alerting you to school closing.
