MEDICAL DISTRIBUTIONSThe health system in Yemen has collapsed, leaving 14.6 million people in 215 districts across Yemen in need of assistance to ensure adequate access to healthcare. Facts responsible for this are low immunization coverage, lack of capacity of functional health facilities for prevention of epidemics and outbreaks, unavailability of operational costs, and lack of basic medicine and medical supplies.

More than 15,201 cases of cholera have been confirmed back in 2018, and these cases have been on the rise, increasing by 16% in all 8 governorates of Yemen.

Hospital

• Azal Medical Complex

• Al-Zahrawi Medical Center

Results: A total of 2,400 cholera patients were provided with short-term treatment.

HYGIENE KIT DISTRIBUTIONS

• APRIL 1-4, 2019 100 female-headed households from Al-Hudaydah governorate were given a hygiene kit.

• APRIL 20-21, 2019 50 female patients were given the hygiene kits at Al-Sabeen Maternity and Child Hospital And Azal Medical Complex.

FOOD BASKET DISTRIBUTIONDue to the humanitarian catastrophe happening in Yemen that has led to hunger, malnutrition and outbreak of diseases, Sana’a is one of the governorates in Yemen with the highest levels of food insecurity in the world. 30% of the population is in acute need if assistance.

• APRIL 1-4, 2019 200 displaced families received a food basket at Mohammed Al-Tuhaif School in Al Sabeen District, Amanat Al-Asimah (Sana’a, Yemen)
