Computer Skills Get basic understanding of the Internet and how to research topics. Improve your typing skills, write with the computer, and practice your math and reading exercises in new and different ways.

Cooking in a MugAfter many requests, it is finally here: cooking for just one person. Each week we will make something using a mug and a microwave. We will cover everything from breakfast to dessert. Come Hungry!

Let’s Go to the MoviesLet’s have some popcorn and watch a movie on the big screen in stereophonic sound. This is how movies should be watched. We’ll watch old movies, new movies and some in between. At the end we will take some time to discuss what we watched.

Open Sewing Open sewing room! Work time for quilting or other sewing projects. You can also use the time for other hand-work such as latch hook, knitting, crochet and more. Jewelry Techniques: Color EnamelAdd surface designs and colors to your jewelry using the ancient art of enameling. Sculpey, Scraps & MoreCreate miniature works of art with bakeable clay like Fimo or Sculpey and/or create beautiful projects sewing with scraps of fabric.

Super Home Movies: Film Making & PlaywritingMake animated videos. Use our cameras or bring your own smartphones, or cameras. You can also concentrate on screen or playwriting. Generate stories and plays that become the scripts for the video camera crews to make into completed videos.

Wood BurningLearn how to create art or signs sing a wood-burning tool. Class will learn basics techniques and use tips in order to achieve different effects. Once we have had practice we will move on to do a final piece-a sign, a 2D drawing, or a 3D object like a pair of wooden lawn dice.

PHYSICAL MOVEMENT & WELLNESS

A Great StartStart you SEED day out on the right foot. Learn some ways to care for yourself as we practice thinking like relaxation, gentle exercise, positive reflection and centering, all from the comfort of a chair. This will be a gentle exercise class and more.

A New Happier YOUCan you increase your day to day level of happiness? Can you reduce depression, anxiety and feelings of inferiority? This course will give you exercises that will improve your HQ (Happiness Quotient).

Location & TransportationAll SEED activities, except some special events, are held at 1780 West 7th Street, Saint Paul, MN 55116. Use the #54 Bus (Albion Avenue Stop).

Guidelines for Participation

1. New students are required to schedule and complete an intake appointment prior to classes starting. Current students will be registered on-site.

2. Participants must be able to attend classes independently. Please contact SEED staff at 651-228-3655 with any questions.

3. All SEED classes are school sponsored, so there is no smoking on the school grounds.

4. Any individuals attending classes are asked to carry emergency contact information on their person.

5. Students are required to observe behavior expectations. Failure to do so may result in dismissal from the program.

1. Schedule an Intake Appointment by calling 651-228-3655 between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm Monday - Friday

2. Intake Appointment & Class Registration at: 1780 West 7th Street Saint Paul, MN 55116

Cancellations If there is insufficient enrollment for a class, participants will be notified.

Weather ClosingIn case of bad weather, tune in to local media – broadcast, print and online – for information on school closures or check the Saint Paul Public Schools website at www.spps.org for the most current updates. Classes are not held when schools are closed due to inclement weather.
