HOW FAR DID JESUS COME? (for Christmas)

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * How far did Jesus come to live with us? I don’t think we really understand it. We might even think that it wasn’t that big of a drop. We should look more carefully at what Scripture says. From Scripture we know that He was in Heaven, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, with thousands of angels, living beyond Time, beyond any limits of any kind. The Triune God (Father-Son-Holy Spirit) has no limits. All power. All authority. All knowledge. INFINITE. Jesus, God the Son. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him ALL things were made; WITHOUT Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of ALL mankind.” What did Jesus give up for us? What was it like being confined to one place, one town, and no more being everywhere? What was it like to be confined to seeing only one thing at a time, in only one direction, and no more seeing everything everywhere at the same time? What was it like to be confined to a frail human body after being eternal?!? What was it like to be tired after having infinite power? What was it like to be misunderstood by humans after being perfectly understood forever within the Trinity in Heaven? What was it like to be questioned all the time by people who had no idea what they were talking about? What was it like to be judged by humans who did not know any of the facts? “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9 He could have explained how the worlds were made! He could have told them exactly how the plants and the animals were created! He could have explained every mystery, and answered every question that they ever had! “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” John 1:14 But He came to live among them, be one of them, and show them love – real love – “up close and personal”. And that genuine love came to them (to us) in the lowliest, most fragile, helpless, most humble way: as a newborn baby to a poor young girl far from her home and family. “He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” Philippians 2:7 We rightfully talk about the great love of Jesus for us shown on Good Friday. ¿DESDE QUÉ DISTANCIA VINO JESÚS (PARA LA NAVIDAD)?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * ¿Desde qué distancia vino Jesús para vivir con nosotros? No creo que realmente lo entendamos. Incluso podríamos pensar que no fue un gran descenso. Debemos mirar más detenidamente lo que dice la Escritura. Por las Escrituras sabemos que Él estaba en el Cielo, con el Padre y con el Espíritu Santo, con miles de ángeles, viviendo más allá del Tiempo, más allá de cualquier límite de cualquier clase. El Dios Trino (Padre-Hijo-Espíritu Santo) no tiene límites ningunos. Todo poder. Toda autoridad. Todo conocimiento. INFINITO. Jesús, el Dios Hijo. “En el principio era el Verbo, y el Verbo era con Dios, y el Verbo era Dios. Este era en el principio con Dios. TODAS las cosas por Él fueron hechas, y SIN Él nada de lo que ha sido hecho, fue hecho. En Él estaba la vida, y la vida era la Luz de los hombres.” ¿Cuáles cosas sacrificó Jesús para vivir con nosotros? ¿Cómo fuera para Él limitarse a un solo lugar, una sola ciudad, y no más estar presente en todas partes? ¿Cómo fuera para Él limitarse a ver sólo una cosa a la vez, en una sola dirección, y no más verlo todo en todas partes al mismo tiempo como lo podía antes? ¿¡¿Cómo fuera para Él estar limitado a un frágil cuerpo humano después de ser eterno?!? ¿Cómo fuera para Él estar cansado después de tener poder infinito? ¿Cómo fuera para Él ser malinterpretado por los seres humanos después de siempre haber sido entendido perfectamente en el seno de la Trinidad en el Cielo? ¿Cómo fuera para Él ser cuestionado todo el tiempo por personas que no tenían ni idea de qué estaban hablando? ¿Cómo fuera para Él ser juzgado por humanos que no sabían nada de los hechos reales? “Como son más altos los cielos que la tierra, así son Mis caminos más altos que sus caminos, y Mis pensamientos más que sus pensamientos.” Isaías 55:9 ¡Jesús podría haberles explicado cómo los planetas fueron hechos! ¡Él podría haberles dicho exactamente cómo las plantas y los animales fueron creados! ¡Él podría haber explicado todos los misterios, y contestaron a todas las preguntas que han tenido! “Y aquel Verbo fue hecho carne, y habitó entre nosotros.” Juan 1:14 Él vino a vivir entre ellos, ser uno de ellos, y mostrarles el amor - el amor verdadero – “cara a cara.” Y ese amor auténtico vino a ellos (y a nosotros) en la manera más desfavorable, más frágil, más indefensa, más humilde: vino como un bebé recién nacido a una joven pobre lejos de su hogar y su familia. “Se rebajó voluntariamente, tomando la naturaleza de siervo y haciéndose semejante a los seres humanos.” Filipenses 2:7 Correctamente hablamos del gran amor de Jesús por todos nosotros mostrado el Viernes Santo.
