BS cum laude in Environmental Science, The Ohio State University

PhD in Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Washington State University

Director and Agriculture Specialist, WSU Pierce County Extension

A native of Upstate New York, I have lived in Washington State since January, 2009. I

was recruited by WSU for graduate school and now serve as a WSU faculty member

and Director of WSU Pierce County Extension. My background and education have

been in the sciences and engineering, but I am increasingly interested in the oppor-

tunities and advancement that can only be brought about through the business

world.

In 2010 my wife and I founded a registered NGO that works to facilitate scientific, cultural, and linguistic exchange

between citizens of the U.S. and Brazil. I’m very interested in expanding our mission and facilitating real, lasting, sus-

tainable opportunity for underserved populations in various regions of the world. I am counting on the solid busi-

ness foundation provided by a Milgard MBA to adequately prepare me for this. My wife and I have two young

daughters and currently reside in Puyallup.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Puyallup, WA

I grew up in Tacoma and moved to Puyallup to open my practice in Oral Surgery

15 years ago. My husband and I are closely tied to the UW Seattle dental

school and are frequently on campus and at games. We have 3 children ages

14, 13, and 10 that play most sports and attend Bellarmine and Charles Wright Academy.

I primarily work out of my private practice, however I also operate at Good Samaritan Hospital and Tacoma

General Hospital. I am active in the Good Samaritan Foundation Board as well. When I have free time, I ac-

tively engage in my indoor soccer team, tennis or really any sport that involves a ball or running shoes.

Marketing, Orion Industries

I spent 14 years as an Art Director managing several product lines and I have worked

with multiple licensed properties. I have experience in product development, creative

development, product photography, print production and I have created all types of

marketing collateral. I am currently heading up the marketing functions at Orion Industries which is primarily an aero-

space manufacturing company. Orion is a nonprofit which uses its business platform to provide training and employ-

ment opportunities to those who have barriers to employment. My wife, Trish, and I also run a cottage industry in which

we create collectible holiday character figurines and art dolls. My interests include traveling when possible, reading

when time allows, my electric guitar when my wife is running errands, and science fiction or comedy movies when I fi-

nally decide I'm too tired to get anything productive done. I'm a Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks fan in the fall and

winter (when they play each other I cheer for the offense). I'm a Seattle Mariners fan in the spring and summer. My wife

and I got into a 100-year-old house a few years ago and we have been methodically remodeling it ever since. Recently

I've been learning my way around the kitchen as I am learning how to cook healthy recipes. So far I've discovered I'm

pretty good at doing dishes. My oldest son, Devin, is at WWU in Bellingham. I also have another son, Alden, and a daugh-

ter, Madeline, who are both students at Lakes High School. I’m looking forward to all of us sitting at our big dining table

doing our homework, after the dishes are done of course.

Business Analyst, Alta Forest Products

I followed my older sister, Brandi, great lengths from our childhood home in Everett,

WA approximately 90 miles south to Lacey, WA to attend SMU and play for their softball

team. After graduating and leading the team to the greatest single-season turn around

in Division II history, I began work for a cedar fencing manufacturer, Welco Lumber. I

started in their Edmonds, WA office and shortly transferred back to their office in my

collegiate stomping grounds of the Lacey-Olympia, WA area. Welco then merged with

their biggest competitor and moved to Chehalis, WA, which is where I am currently employed.

While at SMU, I met a soccer player and fell in love. Austin and I recently got married, honeymooned to the World Cup in

Brazil, and have spent most of our married life adventuring. We live in downtown Olympia, WA and are currently exploring

our home and dog ownership options. In my free time you will find me at the gym, cheering on Seattle sports teams

(Huskies, Seahawks, Sounders, Mariners), running around Capitol Lake, baking in my all too cozy kitchen, hiking, or jumping

on a weekend flight to see my parents in San Diego. I am thrilled to meet everyone in the MBA program and have the op-

portunity to start this next adventure together!

B.S. Business Administration, California Polytechnic State University Bartender, Engine House No. 9 Born and raised in Tacoma, I ventured down to the beautiful city of San Luis Obispo, CA to pursue my undergraduate degree. During my time there I studied business, with a concentration in entrepreneurship and marketing. After moving back to Tacoma in 2010, I got into the restaurant industry being hired as a bar manager and marketing director for the Harmon Brewing Co. I continued manag-ing in this industry for the next 3 years with The Harmon and eventually Farrelli's Woodfired Pizza before stepping down from my leadership roles to start my own venture. In 2013, I started a food cart and catering business called Les Toussaints Creole Cuisine. Now, I am heading back to school in search of my next professional challenge. During my free time I enjoy traveling, watching my Seahawks, golfing, cooking and brewing tasty beers.
