Thank you for your interest in Winston Preparatory School. We are proud of our uniqueeducational program for students grades 4-12 with learning differences. At Winston, eachstudent's program is designed to develop essential skills while challenging his or her strengths. lnour highly successful Focus Program, each student receives a daily period of one-to-oneinstruction concentrating on his or her greatest area of need. The impìementation of the programhas allowed us to further personalize instruction and strategies so that our students can betterunderstand themseìves, verbalize their needs and become independent learners. The process ofplacement and program design is informed by an in-depth understanding of the individual thatbegins with the information you share with us during the appìication process. Please refer to theenclosed application procedure checklist for further explanation of required information.Additionally, all prospective parents/guardians are required to attend an Open House and areasked to RSVP all attendees, via email, to [email protected]. Winston Preparatory School accepts students on a rolling basis. The following materials are required inorder to consider your application complete. All forms can be found in the Admissions section of ourwebsite www.winstonprep.edu. Upon receipt of the above materials, the Admissions Committee will reviewyour application in an initial screening. lf the Committee believes the applicant may be an appropriatematch for our program, your child will be invited for a school visit and interview. All applicants will benotified of the Committee's findings within three weeks of the initial screening. Winston PreparatorySchool accepts students with average to superior intellectual potential; howevet, Winston PreparatorySchool does not accept students with primary behavioral or emotional qfmptoms.

Winston Preparatory School is a co-ed day school for 4th through l2th grade students with learningdifferences such as dyslexia, nonverbal learning disabilities, expressive or receptive language disorders, andexecutive functioning difficulties. Our individualized educational program is based on an in-depthunderstanding of each student's leaming profile, with explicit skill and content instruction taught in smallcìasses averagíng ten students each. FINANCIAL AID
Parents of students who have been accepted may apply for tuition assistance. Limited tuitionassistance is avaiìable. Requests are reviewed after a student is accepted into the program.
Winston receives no direct public funding, though many famiìies pursue reimbursement under
the "Carter" mechanism. A decision on the award of financial aid may be deìayed pending receipt
of full information on avaiìable resources.
PUBLIC THIRD PARTY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
We expect payments to be made in accordance with our published tuition and fee schedule. lt is
important to remember the "Carter" reimbursement mechanism is a legal and financial process
between families and their school districts. Winston Preparatory School has no direct financial
relationship with local school distrìcts, and families should be mindful of this when pursuing
third party funding.

Please be advised that The Winston Preparatory School is a specialized program for students withdisabilities, and accordingly, our unreimbursed tuition and fees may be deductible as a medical
expense under existing regulations issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, lnternaìRevenue Service.
Because Winston Preparatory School cannot provide individual tax advice to our parents, please
contact your tax advisor to discuss those regulations and your ability to claim a deduction on
your personal income tax return.
