What a blessing we received last Sunday evening.
Danny Keyes did an outstanding job filling the pul-
pit in Brother Bill’s absence. His sermon was
based on a passage from the Gospel of Mark where
Jesus called the first Disciples. “As Jesus walked
beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his
brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they
were fishermen.” Jesus said to them, “Come, fol-
low me…and I will make you fishers of men.”
Danny posed an interesting question for us to
think about. Do we want to be fishers of men, or
merely keepers of our own aquarium? Can we ac-
cept the challenge? In everything we do, we
should share Christ with others.
In order for a church to grow, we need to be
passionate about doing things to make it grow.
Everyone has a passion for something. We must
all find a spiritual way to use these things to be
fishers for men. What a powerful message! My
prayer is that we would all search for ways to use
the gifts and talents that the Lord has blessed us
with and put them to use to further the Kingdom of
God.
Upcoming Events! Senior Adult Luncheon – Thursday, April 23 at 11:30 a.m. This will be a Sandwich and Salad Luncheon. The church will be providing a variety of sandwiches and desserts. All you have to do is bring one of your favorite salads to share with your friends and come join us! Susan (Crowe) Clark, formally of Winnfield, is Director of Home Place and Family Care Ministries at Louisiana Bap-tist Children’s Home. She will be our guest speak-er for this meeting, so don’t miss it!
Dear Church Members - Our fund raising
efforts on the Restoring God’s House
project will conclude at the end of May. We
are still about $45,000 short of our goal. We
would encourage everyone to prayerfully
consider making a special offering to this
project during the next month so we can go
into our permanent financing with as low a
balance as possible. This will allow our budg-
et to cover our monthly payment and with
our continued designated giving to pay this
indebtedness off as soon as possible. Thanks
so much for your support.
