TRANSCRIPT
Wing T Offense
• misdirection - at least 3 attack points each play
• fun, high powered offense to watch -- when it works
• precision and timing - lots of pressure on a defense
• everybody fakes
• need athletic and smart linemen -- pulls, traps and reads
Wing T Offense: Benefits
• confusing to defend - can negate overly aggressive defensive star
• angle blocking compensates for lack of size
• fun for linemen - pulls and traps
• fun for backs -- misdirection
• excellent with quick cutting backs -- don’t need burners
• simple effective passing game -- mostly play action
Wing T Offense: Drawbacks
• precision takes work
• reads for linemen
• missed blocking assigments (particularly trap blocks) result in broken plays or losses in backfield
• passing is best if QB can throw on the run
• backs must fake

Why so successful:- CB & safety in a bind -- used to having TE & WR run at them to block- quick hits -- big gains- QB can have avg arm- some passes are scary

Wishbone Offense
• It has been run successfully at 12 - 14; can it be run at 7 - 9?
• Can use option snap; pitch
• is it fair to teach or is it too simple for teaching breadth of mechanics
• will kids enjoy it?
