The Wine Salon of the Czech RepublicThe Wine Salon of the Czech Republic is the title granted every year to a hundred best wines of the Czech Republic assessed by the system of the highest National Wine Competition.Wines awarded with the title “Wine Salon of the Czech Republic” are presented all year round in the public wine-tasting exhibition in the National Wine Centre in the Valtice Chateau cellars. Visitors have the chance to taste the best Moravian and Bohemian wines in the beautiful chateau premises and at the same time to get all interesting information about each wine as well as about the wine-makers presented. It is possible to taste the exhibited wines within the framework of some wine-tasting programme and also to purchase the wines. The exhibition includes a shop where you can purchase gift packages, wine literature, wine-tasting glasses, sommelier accessories etc. You can also see the exhibition about history of viticulture and grape varieties as well as the Hall of Fame of viticulture in the Czech Republic. The reception desk of the Wine Salon serves also as the Information Centre of Moravian and Bohemian wines.The exhibition of the Wine Salon of the Czech Republic is situated in the historical buildings of the Valtice Chateau, in the premises of the National Wine Centre, reconstructed with the support of the European Union and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic. The town of Valtice itself is the centre of wine-growing and wine tourism in the region. It lies in the beautiful region referred to as the “pearl of South Moravia” – the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape, which is entered on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage list.
Wine-tasting programmesA – OPEN WINE-TASTING A possibility to individually taste any exhibited wine (excluding sparkling wines and special predicate selec-tions). The programme takes approximately 90 minutes. A1 – Open wine-tasting – price 355 CZK
Detailed information regarding each wine is available on the wine display, as well as in the catalogue. During wine-tasting a sommelier is present. A2 – Joint ticket – (Open wine-tasting + 2 tour circuits through the Valtice Chateau) – price 419 CZK
Discount 61 CZK compared to standard prices. The ticket can be used only during the opening hours of the Chateau.
B – “BY THE GLASS” WINE-TASTINGA possibility to individually taste wines with the help of the modern wine dispenser “By the Glass”. Programme B1 – price 100 CZK
An individual selection from the collection of 7 kinds of wine (white dry up to semi-sweet, rosé and red). Programme B2 – price 250 CZK
An individual selection from the collection of naturally sweet wines (ice wines, botrytic selections, selections from berries, straw wines).
C – SUPERVISED WINE-TASTINGThe tasting programmes of selected wine samples supervised by a sommelier. The number of participants in this programme is a minimum of 8, and maximum of 45. It is essential to book the supervised wine-tasting in advance at e-mail: [email protected]. Without confi rmation of the booked date it is not pos-sible to guarantee the supervised wine-tasting. Supervised wine-tasting is in Czech language, after previous arrangement it is possible to arrange it in English.
Programme C1 – price 150 CZKA selection of 4 white and 2 red wines chosen by a sommelier (excludes sparkling and naturally sweet wines). Programme C2 – price 260 CZK
A selection of 5 white, 4 red wines and one naturally sweet wine chosen by a sommelier. Programme C3 – price 395 CZK
A selection consisting of one sparkling wine, 6 white wines, 4 red wines and 2 naturally sweet wines chosen by a sommelier.
During the wine-tasting you will be lent a wine-tasting glass and bread for neutralisation is offered. Tickets for wine-tasting programmes are available at the reception desk of the wine-tasting exhibition of the Wine Salon of CR. Payment method: Cash in CZK and EUR, Credit Cards: VISA, EC/MC and American Express cards.
