Welcome to The Saddle Room restaurant and thanks for visiting us.

I would like to take this opportunity to present to you our wine list which has been a labour of love in selecting the absolute best range of wines available to Restaurants worldwide. All my wines offer great value for money and have been personally selected following a long career in the wine trade. For most of the wines listed I have personally visited the winery or have met the winemaker which makes a real difference to see exactly the wine making practices and philosophy of each winery whilst ensuring consistent quality.

We have an extensive range of wines available to you and have tried to lay out the list in drinking style rather than country with the idea being that if you like one wine then chances are you may like another in that category. I have constructed the list to try and cover all tastes and requirements as well as having a few quirky and interesting wines which you may like to experiment with. In addition I have invested in a unique system called Verre Du Vin which is a wine preservation system that means we can offer more premium wines by the glass and this is a great opportunity for you to try some fabulous wines without having to buy a bottle.

Food match: This stylish rose would be perfect accompaniment to heavier dishes ie chicken or pork a real grown ups’ rose.

68 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Sainte Vierge £32.50 France Powerful and complex red fruits and ripe black fruits with spicy notes. It has a beautiful structure on the palate with an excellent balance between fruit and tannins which are fine and silky.

Food match: Made for hearty meat or vegetable dishes. Salt aged rump would be a perfect match! R&J, our local butchers, have been going for over 40 years. From field to delivery they have full control which means traceability and animal welfare is a huge reason why we choose to work with them.

47 Château Batailly 2011 £68.00 France A beautifully smooth and elegant wine showing classic cedar and chocolate notes, with age becomes very smooth and displays black pepper, tobacco and graphite nuances. It is well structured with ripe tannins, complemented by a silky mouthfeel and a long, lingering finish.

48 Château Talbot 2006 £90.00 France Wonderfully aromatic and concentrated with pure, blackberry and blackcurrant fruit. There is so much fruit in fact that the find tannins feel almost hidden as they glide smoothlyacross the palate.

PORTS72 Dalva Late Bottled Vintage Port, Portugal 750ml Bottle £35.00 Aged in cask between 4 and 6 years after the harvest. Exuberantly fruity, raspberry, blackberries, wild berries. Full bodied, spicy and fresh with a persistent finish.

73 Dalva 10 Year Old Tawny Port, Portugal 750ml Bottle £45.00 This Aged Tawny is matured in oak for on average 10 years. Some red nuances in the golden colour, deep aroma of fruit conserve and nuts. Very balanced on the palate, delicate, fruity and spicy, peppery nuances in the fresh and persistent finish.
