MAIN VARIETIES DISTRIBUTION IN THE WORLD

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Out of the 10 000 vine varieties known in the world, 13 represents more than one third of the world vine area and 33 varieties represents 50%. Some varieties grow in many countries and we generally refer to them as international varieties. The best example is Cabernet-Sauvignon which is now one of the most cultivated wine grapes in the world (5% world vine area). On the contrary, some varieties are mainly cultivated in a few countries - Kyoho, in China

2017 world wine production (excluding juice & musts) expected to decrease by 8% unfavourable climate conditions weighed on productions in different countries
