Market Forcast

The UK Energy Technology Institute suggests that on current trajectories floating wind power could be down to less than €100/MWh by 2025.

Project pipeline is what is needed to justify the big upfront costs.

Globally, forecasts are for some 15GW of floating wind to be anchored offshore by 2030.

Estimates point to 80% Of the global offshore Wind resource being Located in water depths Of 60 meters…

Population Density

Coast Line

Water depth & wind

• 80% of world population live in an area of 50km to the coast

• Same distance as from earth to the moon

• In line with greater and more stable wind

Challenges from the Turbine OEM Perspective

Demo Projects tend to be small hence lack of scale effects

High engineering and project management resources required

WTG Modification

Large Component exchange

Foundation Design Process is crucial for success

Floating is anticipated to follow a downward cost

• High wind regime hence high capacity factor • Large turbine Size

• Economic of scale e.g. predictable & reliable political framework

• Enter the second phase of large scale projects • Reduce platform size / CAPEX

• Improvement of installation • Real collaboration between Designer, OEM
