1 Instrument capability Equipment has to be demonstrated for continuous operation of 2 hours without disturbance.

2 Technical Specifications Parameter Description

Type Open circuit, subsonic, continuous flow type wind tunnel made of FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic). Operating temperature range: 10 °C to 50 °C to ambient.

Test Section

300mm x 300 mm cross section having Plexiglass (Acrylic) side windows with suitable arrangement to access test section. Model Positioning Systems with manual pitch adjustment mechanism up to +/- 20°. It should keep models centered regardless of pitch angle. Angles of incidence to be changed quickly and accurately while the tunnel is running with precision of 1º or low.

Flow Low turbulence flow with variable Airspeed Range from 5 m/s (or lower) to 30 m/s (or higher). A digital tunnel air speed indicator.

Drive High Efficiency, Low noise and vibration, properly balanced Axial flow fan driven by electric motor having variable frequency drive controller for speed control. Provision for protection of fan from damage by loose objects.

Honey comb section

Square cell Honeycomb structure (removable for cleaning) for Flow Straightening along with Turbulence-reducing Mesh Screens of Stainless Steel wires

Smoke Generator
