Installing pr inter drivers on Windows 7 via Plug and Play

Driver installation on Windows 7 has changed when compared to previous Operating Systems.

Windows 7 searches Windows Update for the relevant device; if Windows Update cannot find asuitable driver it will search its own drivers on the system.

If there are no drivers available for the device, Windows 7 will not prompt the user for input. Youwill need to install the driver manually as an Administrator.

To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open Devices and Printers

    2. Right click USB device and select Properties

    5. The dialog will close and reopen. Select the Driver tab and choose Update Driver.

    6. A new wizard will start; choose Browse my computer for driver software.

    7. Browse to the location of the driver. This could be the original CD or the expanded contents of aweb download. Then Click Next and continue following the wizards instructions

Note: This process is similar for the scanner driver however, in some cases you may have to unplugthe USB cable and re-connect for the device to be installed properly. It is recommended to install the driver using the OKI original CD or by using the Add printerwizard before connecting the device, to avoid the above procedure.
