There will be no Code Enforcement meeting in December. The next meeting will be on January 16, 2009. In the spirit of acquainting all of you with our property, I was able to dig up a little info on the building his- tory. Mind you, my wife and I have only owned and lived in the building under 3 years, but there happens to be a nice little history there... According to the PD- 10 Document, this Spanish Colonial Revival Duplex was built around 1928, probably a date provided by the County Tax Assessor or anoth- er City Office that keeps the records. My wife Cherie had done a little research at the library and had found phone records going back to about 1923, so the true date really leaves a few question marks and is yet to be determined. In one of its more memorable states, the house was owned and run as the "Victorian Tea Company" during the mid 90's, where afternoon Tea Party Classes were held, along with other events relating to National Tea Week and Themed Teas for every season. This enterprise existed in the lower unit, where pre- vious owners Barb and Jim remodeled the kitchen in a charming manner, reflecting the classic tile work of the earlier eras. It is still in place today. We ourselves have re-landscaped the backyard into a mini-resort for entertaining, complete with water features, jacuzzi and BBQ Island. If it is a warm evening this Dec. 17th, perhaps we may even spend a little time out back. We will certainly leave it open for all to explore and enjoy. Hope to see you there!
