Mountains surrounding Willka T’ika in the Sacred Valley of Peru
Maras, P’isaq, Ollantaytambo and Macchu Picchu
Mountains
bordering the valleys:
These are part
of Urubamba’s
marvelous
natural wonders,
which Willka T’ika
shares.
A mysterious force
presses men to
ever strive toward
the highest heights,
and in the
mountains where
land and sky join,
they seem to fnd
the answer to what
they seek.
Just as all creation
and expansion of
nature takes place
silently, so also
must one live his
own interior life,
observing and
understanding it to
make it better.
By radiating its light,
nature illuminates
our own being and
touches our hearts
and, for a few
moments the
shadow of ego
disappears from
our mind.
The most valuable
leaf of the Andes:
the coca leaf, used
in ceremonies and
also, for farmers to
maintain their
energies.
Carol Cumes invites you.I wish to share my unique Andean experience
with like-minded leaders. We take care of all logistics for a most enriching experience for the leaders
and their guests. I invite you to bring your own group of students or friends to Willka T’ika
for a life-changing Magical Journey to Peru.
Carol is founder of Willka T’ika, Magical Journey and the Willka T’ika Children’s Fund,
and author of 3-time gold-award winning Chakra Gardens: Opening the Senses of the Soul,
Journey to Machu Picchu, and several other books.
A tenet of Carol’s
philosophy, which
led her to the
successful building
of Willka T’ika,
Magical Journeys
and several schools
for Quechua
children, is that one
should have the
kind of faith that
moves the world,
with which one
does not say
“maybe” but
instead, without
hesitation, says
“yes!”
Nature teaches us
in many ways to be
able to remain in
the center without
being dragged from
one side to the
other.
In harmony with PachamamaWillka T’ika surpasses the International Criteria
for classifcation as an Ecolodge – it is a model of authentic sustainability.
• Built with earth materials from the surrounding area
• Sophisticated sewage and water tanks
• Solar panels where possible to heat water
• Kitchen and garden waste recycled for Willka T’ika compost
• Community outreach: Willka T’ika Children’s Fund
Bedrooms, rooms
for spiritual
practices and
service areas
occupy only 30% of
Willka T’ika’s total
area. Gardens take
up 70% and all of it
is surrounded by
mountains.
Carol’s dedicated Quechua staffhas been with her for almost 20 years,
since the beginning of Willka T’ika.Together, they ensure each guest experiences
the quality of Willka T’ika with their heartwarming guest services, fresh, organic, vegetarian cuisine,
and lovingly maintained Sacred Spaces and gardens.
Our dear Moisés,
deeply
knowledgeable
about plants and
Incan medicinal
herbs, selecting
greens and other
vegetables for the
kitchen.
Inkakuna quinoa
soup flled with the
infamous superfood
of today. Guests are
nourished with
Pachamama’s
bounty at Willka
T’ika.
Willka T’ika has its
own nursery and
ecological gardens;
all its foods are
organic and natural
because it
essentially uses all
local valley output.
A world of so
much beauty would
not be complete
without the
goodness of Carol’s
heart, which
inspired the Willka
T’ika Children’s
Fund and supports
the education of
Quechua children
living in isolated
zones of the
Andean valley of
Cusco.
The native language
of these children is
Quechua, the
sacred tongue of
the Incas. The
teachers also are
helping them learn
Spanish.
Thanks for the
Fundación funded
by Carol and her
donors, these
students have a
better school
atmosphere and
technological
advances.
Whether with cold or rain,
many children walk two or
three hours through the high
altitudes to attend school at
Chumpe Pokes.
It is not enough
not to harm anyone
else; one must
actively do good
and serve others,
especially to those
who are truly
needy.
The perfume of the
fowers only goes
in the direction the
wind blows, while
the fragrance of
excellent behavior
goes in every
direction.
