She has completed her fourth book, and already has a charac- ter in mind for a fifth. Mrs. Bennett has been writing since 1993, and started out with a writing called “The Greener Grass”, which she says was in- spired by her daughter always thinking the grass would’ve been greener on the other side. For example, her daughter want- ed to live in a bigger house. Along with this story, Bennett wrote about 10 others in her free time. Her husband, Dalton Ben- nett, used to tell their daughter bed time stories. This influ- enced Judy to write the “Sheepy Weepy Adventure Stories”, for children. In approximately 2005, Judy found a portrait behind an old painting, and this inspired her to write the first novel, “The Truth Lies Within”. When asked how she feels about reading her own books Mrs. Bennett stated, “I can’t read my books, because if I do I’m constantly thinking about what I could’ve changed or done better.” Holla Bend National Wild- life Refuge will offer two quota youth hunts, April 12-13, 2014, and April 19-20, 2014. The bag limit for each quota hunt is one legal turkey. The youth hunt is restricted to youths 6-15 years of age. During these quota hunt week- ends, the refuge will be closed to all other hunt-related activi- ties including turkey scouting. Hunters can go to the refuge website: www.fws.gov/holla- bend and print off an application for youth quota hunts. Applica- tions for youth hunts can also be made on a postcard or index card mailed in an envelope. Include the applicant’s name, mailing address, contact phone number, and hunt weekend pref- erence. Applications can be mailed or hand delivered to Holla Bend National Wildlife Refuge, 10448 Holla Bend Road, Darda- nelle, AR 72834. Applications must be received in the refuge office or post- marked no later than January 31, 2014. Hunters will be selected by random draw and notified by mail in February.
