Ideation Homework Format To be completed on 1 or 2 pages in your sketchbook, in the homework section. Part 1: Brainstorming words or phrasesCreate a word map or a list of words in your sketchbook that all relate to the assigned Visual Journal theme. You should have at least 15 words or phrases.

Part 2: Three concept sketches based on word(s)/phrase(s) Choose 1-3 words/phrases and think of imagery that relates. Use a material of your choice to create 3 different sketches for a 2-page spread. Be sure to have a central idea to each sketch. Also be sure that each sketch is well composed and demonstrates how you would use the entire 2-page spread.

Part 3: Describe and Explain Write a paragraph describing your best idea/sketch out of the three. Describe the imagery on both pages and how it relates to your chosen word(s) from the brainstorming. What might the background look like? What materials might you use? What haven’t you figured out about this composition/idea?
