It hasn t been a good time for those who investigate the dark world of conspiracies andcover -ups . Even though public opinion tends to look unfavorably on writers and publishersof conspiracy theories recent mass -media revelations of top -secret projects, such as thecommunication -eavesdropping Echelon and Carnivore, can be originally accredited to thevery same conspiracy -investigators considered too far -out by the popular press . However,it seems that someone else has become interested in the conspiracy -investigators someonewith a deadly interest .

Even though it may be just coincidence, recently there has been a series of unusual deathsand accidents involving investigators, writers, lecturers, and now, a publisher of conspiracy -theories . Investigative reporter Danny Casolaro, lecturer Phillip Schneider, writer Jim Keithand publisher Ron Bonds, all died under unusual circumstances .

In 2001, writer and researcher Branton, known for his book T he Dulce Wars (1999,Global Comm unication s), was cr iticall y injured in a myster ious hit-and-run acc ident.Suff er ing cr itical head-injur ies, Branton remained in a coma for several week s, but finallyregained consciousness thank s to the effo r ts of his parents and wo rldwid e f ans.

Now anot her pr omin ent person in the weir d world of cons pirac ies has left this wo rld inless than usual circumstances . But is the death of William Milton Coop er the resul t of acons piracy to silence those who str ive to mak e a comp lace nt world aware of the evil that lies just under neath the veneer of our society or simp ly the death of a man whoseacquaintances had always known would end his lif e in vio lence and blood shed?

I had to dr ive 40 miles to meet him straight out of Phoenix and down the long highwaythat hea ds tow ar ds Sedon a and Flagstaff . But my tur n off was not a ma jor highway mar k er .Bill didn 't lik e to dr ive the main r oads. He said he was af raid and so he tr ied to stick closeto home to pr otect his f amily (his Asian wif e Ann a had just giv en bir th to a beau tif ul ba bygirl who I later saw cradled in her ar ms in the f r ont parlor of Bill's home).

Just how af raid was he ...and what was he af raid of?

Our rendezvo us point was the Dair y Quee n outside of Ver de, Ar izon a. My instruc tion swere to dr ive behind the struc ture and par k my car . In a f ew min utes Bill pulle d u p to meand we met for the first time to sha k e hands.

Coop as I later came to ref er to him was a big bear of a guy. Not f at mind you just kindof stocky and well wor n ar ound the edges. He said I should slide into the f r ont sea t nextto him and we would tak e off to talk at his home. Tr ying to er ode some of the myster y a boutour encounter , Bill said that he lived on a stree t with no name (common in this neck of thewood s or deser t I should say!) and lik ed it that way, mainly because non e of his many

detrac tors could find him eas ily.

He said he had been threa tened numer ous times and there had been an attempt to dr ivehim off the r oad and assass inate him a f ew week s before my visit. The only identifi cationmar k for Bill's res idence was a rather beat u p old Chevy par k ed at a hel ter sk elter ang leacr oss the lawn in f r ont of the pr oper ty.

As we dr ove the back r oads out of the Dair y Quee n, I got the imp ress ion that Coop wasa bit paranoid a bout meeting anyon e. He admitt ed tha t he pretty much lik ed to wo r k inseclus ion (he never hea ded a militia mov ement as the press indi cated after his death).

The thing that stick s out in my mind a bout our first meeting was an item on the f r ont sea t between us a revolver in a holster , r ight out in the open.

R ef lec ting on this, I kind of got the imp ress ion that Bill was tr ying, in a sense, to yank my cha in. I f elt he wanted me to believe he was ready for anything should we beconf r onted by evil along the way. Obvio usly, Bill's thinking was two sided. The pistolmig ht well have been meant as a means of pr otection, but I always believed he thought itwo uld for tify his tough guy image in my mind . Being a city slick er he pr oba bly didn 'treal ize I knew it was common and per f ectly legal!

For an unconceale d gun to be dis played. Hell, as you walk thr ough the stree ts, sixshoot ers can still be seen stra pped to the legs of cowboy s who live in the area . So to haveone in a holster on the sea t of the car is pretty much meaning less exce pt as a f ash ionstatement!

We sat in the well lit f r ont parlor acr oss f r om each other eye ball to eye ball . A pow er f uls pok es person, Coop er alle ged that not only is there an CIA -alien link, but that we are beingcont r olled by a Secre t Gov er nment who is res ponsible for f eeding us f alse info r mation ona var iety of su bjects and tr ying to distrac t our lives for their own sinister motiv es that manyof us can only guess at!

On e of the things that was obvio us f r om the star t was Bill's pre-occu pation with theCon stitution and the Bill of Rig hts and that such things as the UFO cover -u p vio lates ever ylaw that has ever been wr itten.

He told me that it was his res ponsibi lity to expo se the cons piracy as thor oughly and asquick ly as possible. He said his belief s and outs pok enness had put him in har ms way

numer ous times and had to mov e re peatedly, cha nge his address in or der to k ee p a low pr ofi le. At the time of our initi al meet Coop er was all out in f avor of the inter planetar y or iginfor UFO s. He even pr ocla imed that he had seen documents pr oving that our gov er nment hadactuall y radifi ed a trea ty with the ET s to exchange their technology for human a bductees .It was this discover y that set Coop er 's belief system for years to come, utterly convin ced that

the gov er nment had set us u p and had committ ed treas ons to the citizens of the Unit edStates. That day I s pent more than three hours with Bill in his home. He seem ration al, clear thinking, reas ona ble at ease and cer tainly ver y devoted to his wif e and little ba by. I can't sayIwent away believing his acc ounts hook, line and sink er , but I was willing to giv e him the benefit of the dou bt.

Ov er the next f ew years I found my confid ence in what he had to say to be on shakygr ound . R e peatedly he cha nged his stor ies and eventuall y said that he had been du ped into believing that UFO s were inter planetar y and had cha nged his mind . He said he had newevid ence that what we were see ing in the sky was reall y a su per -secre t tech nology that had been developed by Nazi scientists dur ing the closing days of World War II . And thatelements of the militar y had pr ovid ed a saf e haven for these scientists in the U.S. where thetechnology was f ur ther per f ected at bases lik e Area 5l in the Nevada deser t unseen by the pr ying eyes of the pu blic.

Coop er s pok e before lar ge audiences at several of the UFO/Con s piracy conf erences I hador ganized in Phoenix, Ar izon a. His wo r k shops were filled to ca pacity (one of them las tedover 4 hours in the hundred degree hea t; the air conditioning being over pow ered by the l50 people crammed into a small r oom ), the gather ings pr ofit a ble to both of us.

Then one day shor tly before one of his sche duled a ppeara nces at one of my pr ograms,Coop er left a messa ge on my answer ing mach ine...a ver y distur bing messa ge that left mein a bind . He was ref using to come to the show because he f elt I was acting as an agent of the IRS ! The real stor y was that we had don e so well that as a pr omot er and s ponsor Inaturall y had to re por t his income on a W2 for m as any business would do . Wh ile I have noreas on to dou bt Coop er sincerel y f elt he was not obligated to pay tax under what he saw asan unlawf ul amendm ent, I did not f eel it my res ponsibi lity to avoid sending him thenecessar y pa per wor k and possibly getting into tr ou ble with the IRS .

I don 't believe I ever s pok e to Bill after he back ed out of an a ppeara nce that had beenhea vily adver tised es pecially, since I had hel ped pr omot e previous engagements and moresuccess f ully then most other s ponsors he had wor k ed with.

But thats water under the dam. Perha ps we will never know the real Bill Coop er as hedid not welcome the oppo r tunity to open himself u p to others . Perha ps others knew him better than I did, and ultimately his wo r k will have to stand on its on . Histor y will tell howon track he was in his pr ono uncements. And God save us all!!!

Bill Coop er had always known that they wo uld come for him someday. They would comefor him because he knew too much , and would not, could not, k ee p to himself the terr ifyingtruth that he had uncovered. stu pid to real ize that their entire lives were a sham. But Coop er was always ready for them.He never left home without his pistol; he never knew when he wo uld have to use it for thatfinal time. He knew it was inevita ble.

William Coop er was no stranger to cont r oversy. He was one of the first to pu blicall yanno unce that there was a gov er nment cover -u p concer ning UFO s. At first, Coop er , alongwith John Lear and others , was convin ced that the Unit ed States gov er nment had f allen intoan unholy all iance with extraterres tr ial crea tures , with the inno cent citiz ens of planet Ear thas their unwitting pawns. He would later cha nge his mind and declare that the wholeextraterres tr ials in league with the U.S. gov er nment was a massive disinfo r mation

campaign by the New World Or der .

The aliens did not exist. Instead, the enti re UFO phenom enon was master mind ed by secre tsocieties in cont r ol of the worlds gov er nments. Hig h-tech nology, but str ictly man made,secre t aircra ft were delibera tely use d to foo l the pu blic that UFO s were alien s pacecra ft.Many were convin ced that it was this revelation that made Bill Coop er a wanted man.

How ever , these intruders were not who they seemed, and they were waiting for Coop er .They knew what he was ready to do . Wha t he had always said he would do . And they knewwhat they had to do . All they needed was for Coop er to mak e the first mov e.

Militia Leader William Cooper Killed Deputy Critical In ShootoutT he A ri z ona R epu b lic 11-6-1

E A GER , A Z - A national leader of the militia movement has b eenkilled and an A pache County sheriff's deputy wounded in a shootout,authorities said.

William Milton Cooper, 58, of Eager, had hosted a talk show b roadcast on the Worldwide Christian R adio out of Nashville, whichreceives it via phone from his home in St. Johns. He had millionsof listeners worldwide, including T imothy McVeigh.

The deputy, whose name was b eing withheld b y authorities, was shottwice in the head while trying to arrest Cooper, a state Departmentof Pu b lic Safety spokesman said today. Cooper was killed b y anotherofficer.

Several deputies were attempting to arrest Cooper, who was armed with a handgun, said Officer Steve Volden, a spokesman for the DPS,which was investigating the shooting. He said details of theshooting would b e released later today. The deputy was in criticalcondition at a Phoenix hospital early today, Volden said.

Cooper was one of the most widely known prophets of the patriot movement, railing at the federal government and talking of

doomsday omens in his radio b roadcast.

McVeigh, who was executed in May for the b om b ing of the federal b uilding in Oklahoma City, listened to Cooper's b roadcasts forinspiration, according to testimony b y James Nichols, b rother ofOklahoma b om b ing co-defendant Terry Nichols during a 1996 pretrialhearing.

Like some other patriot leaders, Cooper refused to get a driver'slicense or pay federal income taxes, saying he is willing to riskgetting ticketed and has found a legal way to avoid the taxes. The

patriot movement grew during the 1990s, fed b y a series of newsevents - the siege of R andy Weaver in Idaho, the raid on the BranchDavidians near Waco, Texas and the signing of gun-control laws.

During the years following World War II the government of the United States was

confronted with a series of events which were to change beyond prediction its future andwith it the future of humanity . These events were so incredible that they defied belief . Astunned President Truman and his top military commanders found themselves virtuallyimpotent after having just won the most devastating and costly war in history . However, nowthey were faced with the possibility that the human race was not alone in the universe .

The United States had developed, used, and was the only nation on earth in possessionof the atomic bomb . This new weapon had the potential to destroy an enemy, and even theEarth itself . At that time the United States had the best economy, the most advancedtechnology, the highest standard of living, exerted the most influence, and fielded the largestand most powerful military forces in history .

We can only imagine the confusion and concern when the informed elite of the UnitedStates Government discovered that an alien spacecraft piloted by insect -like beings froma totally incomprehensible culture had crashed in the desert of New Mexico . BetweenJanuary 1947 and December 1952 at least 16 crashed or downed alien craft, 65 bodies, andone live alien were recovered . An additional alien craft had exploded and nothing wasrecovered from that incident . Of these events, 13 occurred within the borders of the UnitedStates, not including the craft which disintegrated in the air . Of these 13, one was inArizona, 11 were in New Mexico, and one was in Nevada . Sightings of UF Os were sonumerous that serious investigation and debunking of each report became impossible,utilizing the existing intelligence assets .

An alien craft was found on February 13, 1948, on a mesa near Aztec, New Mexico .Another craft was located on March 25, 1948, in White Sands Proving Ground . It was 100feet in diameter . A total of 17 alien bodies were recovered from those two crafts . Of evengreater significance was the discovery of a large number of human body parts stored within both of these vehicles . A demon had reared its head and paranoia quickly took hold of everyone in the know . The Secret lid immediately became a Top Secret lid and wasscrewed down tight . The security blanket was even tighter that imposed upon the ManhattanProject . In the coming years these events were to become the most closely guarded secretsin the history of the world .

A special group of America 's top scientists were organized under the name Project SIGNin December 1947 to study the phenomena . The whole nasty business was contained . ProjectSIGN evolved into Project GR UD GE in December 1948 . A low -level collection anddisinformation project named BLU E BOO K was formed under GR UD GE . A To p Secret anne x to NSC-4, NSC-4A, instructed the director of Central Intelligenceto underta k e covert psychological acti vities in pursuit of the aims set fort h in NSC- 4. Theinitial authorit y given the CIA for covert o perations under NSC-4A did not esta blish formal procedures for either coordinating or a pproving these o perations .
