I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday. I am looking forward to catching up with you during Term 4. Congratulations to Maddie Imrie who has been permanently appointed to the school as a classroom teacher. Welcome to Bianca Steman who is replacing Pamela Steer on Class 2. Improving transitions is an area that we have focused on within our school plan. In Term 3 the leadership team, in consultation with staff and the P&C, evaluated the school plan, in particular transitions. Based on feedback from staff and parents/carers we identified that often returning to school after the Christmas break is an extremely difficult time for our students. This is made further challenging by students moving into a different classroom with a new staff member. We have decided to trial a new transition process at the beginning of 2020. Students will return to school in Term 1 2020 and remain in their previous classroom with the staff from 2019 until at least week 4. During the four weeks staff will complete a handover to the new classroom staff. Further information will be provided regarding this change as the term progresses. In Term 2, the Wagga RSL Club agreed to support the school to purchase a new bus. We are excited to announce that the new bus was delivered to the school on the last day of Term 3. The bus will be used to support students’ access programs in our community such as work experience and attend excursions that will improve the quality of our teaching and learning programs. On behalf of students, staff and the school community thank you to the RSL club for their support. A gentle reminder that staff are on duty from 8.45am in the morning and that school finishes at 3.00pm. Students must have approved leave if they are leaving between 9.00am and 3.00pm. Being on time and present at the beginning of the day is important as it prepares students for their day. When students are late it disrupts their morning routine and the learning of other students. We ask that all families drop off and pick up their children at the appropriate times. If you require assistance or have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the school. Please remember to let the school know if there have been any changes to your child’s Health Care needs. If your child requires medication at school then you must provide a letter from your doctor indicating the name of the medication and times when it must be administered. All medication must be clearly labelled and handed directly to staff . Medication must not be carried by students or placed in the students bag.. The school recently purchased new clocks which have been hung in all playground areas. The staff of Willans Hill pride themselves on punctuality and will also be able to use these as learning tools. Welcome back to students, parents, carers and staff. I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday. I am looking forward to catching up with you during Term 4. Congratulations to Maddie Imrie who has been permanently appointed to the school as a classroom teacher. Welcome to Bianca Steman who is replacing Pamela Steer on

Class 2.

During the four weeks staff will complete a handover to the new classroom staff. Further information will be provided regarding this change as the term

progresses.

On behalf of students, staff and

the school community thank you to the RSL club for their support.
