Will stretching before a workout

According to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, stretching does not
prevent nor cause injury. This was based on a study with 2,729 runners who ran +10 miles a
week.

Stretching causes heating and restraint to the muscles, which then causes compliance;
compliance causes tissues to tear more easily.
Stretching wont affect muscle compliance when most strains are believed to happen during exercise; For example, when you go to the gym to lift weights.
